Clint Eastwood could be stepping behind the camera again.

The renowned director may helm Ballad Of Richard Jewell for Fox/Disney.

According to Deadline, which was first to report the news, Eastwood is in talks to direct the drama of security guard Richard Jewell, who went from hero to suspect in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics bombing.

Jewell’s life was turned upside down after he reported on the knapsack bomb at the 1996 Summer Games. Despite his report and even though he helped clear bystanders — he found himself as the main suspect in a terrorism plot. Jewell was eventually cleared. He died in 2007 of a heart attack at the age of 44.

Billy Ray wrote the script. Should Eastwood join the project, it’ll be the first feature film he’s directed since 2008’s Changeling. Director Ezra Edelman was last to consider the project.
