“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” Renewed by NBC

Andre Braugher, Joe Lo Truglio, and Andy Samberg in "Brooklyn Nine-Nine"

After the shock news last week that Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been cancelled by Fox, fans will be pleased to know that it is being picked up by NBC for a sixth season.

Robert Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC Entertainment said:

“Ever since we sold this show to Fox, I’ve regretted letting it get away, and it’s high time it came back to its rightful home,” he admitted. “Mike Schur, Dan Goor, and Andy Samberg grew up on NBC and we’re all thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and best cast comedies in a long time will take its place in our comedy line-up. I speak for everyone at NBC, here’s to the Nine-Nine!”

Fans of the show were shocked when Fox announced the show would be cancelled along with The Mick and The Last Man on Earth. Fans took to Twitter to push to save the show and celebrity fans such as Lin-Manuel Miranda shared the hashtags #SaveB99 and #RenewB99.

The sixth season will consist of 13 episodes and will star the same cast of: Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Stephanie Beatriz, Chelsea Peretti, Dirk Blocker, and Joel McKinnon Miller.
