Box Office: “Frozen 2” Snowballs With $127 Million Domestic Debut

Frozen 2 freezes out the competition!

The sequel to the hit Disney film is already a proven hit all on its own opening to a whopping $127 million domestic debut.

The animated adventure feature, which is playing in 4,440 theaters, has set a November record for an animated movie and is officially the third-best start for an animated film behind Incredibles 2 ($182 million) and Finding Dory ($135 million) per Variety.

Frozen 2 also did well its opening weekend overseas to the tune of $223 million, making its global haul $350 million — the largest global animated debut in history. 

The film hails from co-directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck. Princess Elsa is voiced by Idina Menzel, Anna by Kristen Bell, Kristoff by Jonathan Gross, and Olaf by Josh Gad.
