The Golden Globes successfully kicked off this year’s awards season and gave us another night to remember. The list of winners at this ceremony was led by The Banshees of Inisherin and The Fabelmans, while Abbott Elementary won big in the television categories.
After scoring eight Golden Globe nominations this year, The Banshees of Inisherin walked away with three trophies: best motion picture: comedy or musical, best lead actor in a motion picture: comedy or musical (Colin Farrell), and best screenwriter (Martin McDonagh).
The Fabelmans had an impressive showing in the drama field, winning awards for best motion picture: drama and best director for Steven Spielberg. Everything Everywhere All At Once also collected two accolades, which went into the hands of its stars Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan.
Abbott Elementary was the biggest winner in the television field and defeated the likes of The Bear and Wednesday to be named the best television series: comedy or musical. House of the Dragon was named the best drama series, while The White Lotus picked up the award for the best anthology or limited series.
After going dark last year, the 80th Golden Globe Awards made a comeback on January 10, with Jerrod Carmichael taking over as the show’s host.
