Tony Cavelero to Star as Ozzy Osbourne in “The Dirt”

Tomy Cavelero is set to star in the new Netflix production The Dirt. The movie will be directed by Jeff Tremaine and is based on the book The Dirt: Confessions Of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band, which shares the inside scoop of the infamous band from the original members.

You might know Tomy Caveloro from Nickelodeon’s School of Rock, where he played Dewey Finn, a character more famously played by Jack Black in the 2003 movie.

Dougie Booth will be playing Nikki Six and Machine Gun Kelley will play Tommy Lee. Tomy’s role as Dewey Finn was definitely outlandish, but in terms of eccentricity, there are few roles more excessive than Ozzy. Sabbath broke big in 1970 with their debut Black Sabbath and Ozzy is notorious for his extreme behavior, including biting the head of a bat in his 1982 concert in Iowa.

The project had been in development at Paramount more than a decade ago and Larry Charles was originally supposed to direct. Last year, Netflix bought the rights to the project. We’re still waiting for more news on when we can expect the movie to be finished.
