Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg the producing duo behind the hit animated adult pic Sausage Party and Point Grey principals have lined up their next animated feature project.

Following the success of Sausage Party, Evan and Goldberg are developing their next animated feature film based on the 2018 podcast, Bubble, by Jordan Morris.

Bubble followed an “unlikely group of monster killers, brought together by an Uber-like app called Huntr, that struggle to make ends meet and find love in a nightmarish version of the gig economy.” The podcast featured Alison Becker, Keith Powell, Cristela Alonzo, Eliza Skinner, and Mike Mitchell.

Morris will adapt the screenplay with Jumanji’s Matt Tolmach producing through his Tolmach productions with Rogen and Goldberg producing through their Point Grey banner.

Variety was first to report the news.

HBO Max has acquired the Seth Rogen-led comedy from Sony Pictures.

An American Pickle is heading to the streamer to avoid release delays due to the Coronavirus and its subsequent nationwide theater closures.

The adaptation of the New Yorker series titled Sell Out by Simon Rich will be directed by Brandon Trost from a script by Rich. Trost was the cinematographer on Rogen’s previous features including This Is the End, Neighbors, and The Interview.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be partnering with HBO Max to release this film,” Rogen said. “We worked very hard and put as much of ourselves in this story as possible. We’re very proud of the end result and we can’t wait for people to get to see it.”

Fyre Festival was a debacle of epic proportions which already served as inspiration for two documentaries, but that won’t be the last we see of it. Seth Rogen and the members of the Lonely Island are currently working on a movie loosely based on this disastrous musical event.

Fyre Festival was scheduled to take place on the Bahamian island of the Great Exuma back in spring 2017. It was described as a “luxury music festival” by its organizers, who paid famous social media influencers – including Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid – to promote it online.

Guests who made their way to the Great Exuma realized they’re victims of fake advertising, as the party in paradise they were promised turned into a total nightmare. Netflix explored this train wreck of a festival in their documentary Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, but a more comical look at this event is coming our way.

Jorma Taccone of the Lonely Island confirmed he’s working on a spoof with his partners Akiva Schaffer and Andy Samberg. Seth Rogen is also on board, but this promising parody is still in its early stages.

“I don’t want to divulge all the details but we’re figuring it out right now. You’ve seen the docs, right? It’s crazy. This is something that Akiva and Seth cooked up, and we’re figuring it all out right now,” said Taccone.

Pineapple Express is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. In celebration, Seth Rogen has shared a series of facts over Twitter about the movie. Given that some of them are quite frankly hilarious, we’ve decided to ensemble our favorites into a list. Without further ado, here are our 10 favorite facts we just learned about Pineapple Express.

  1. Rogen and Evan Goldberg had to roll 100 odd cross-shaped joints because nobody else on the crew could roll them properly.
  2. The name Pineapple Express did not originate in the movie. It’s a Hawaiin weather system.
  3. While filming the fight scene at Red’s house, Rogen broke his finger and Danny McBride got his head cracked open by a bong.
  4. They originally wrote the movie for Seth to play Saul and Franco to play Dale but ended up switching.
  5. Red was originally supposed to die the first time he was shot, but they thought he was so funny they kept bringing him back to life.
  6. In the scene where Red is taped to a chair, Danny was actually taped to a chair and had to stay there all day because it took too long to put him back.
  7. Rogen did 99% of his own stunts in the movie.
  8. Saul calls his worst weed “Snicklefritz” in the movie because Rogen’s practical FX supervisor used to use it as an insult when he didn’t like what his second-in-command was doing, and they thought it was hilarious.
  9. Kanye West came to the Pineapple Express premiere.
  10. Bryan Cranston actually auditioned for the movie and Judd Apatow said he didn’t seem “scary enough to be a drug dealer.” Oh the irony!
