]]>Season 6 left us in a state of mixed emotion. While we watched our sort-of-protagonist be released from Litchfield, we also saw Taystee fail to receive justice and Flores get transported to an immigration center.
The Litchfield authorities still have a lot to answer for, and it is seeming increasingly unlikely that any of the women sentenced and mistreated will receive the justice they deserve.
In the trailer, we see Piper struggling to navigate life on the outside while her wife, Alex, remains behind bars. Taystee’s journey does not appear to be over, and we even catch sight of Flores, wherever she may be now.
Of all the mysteries, the greatest has got to be what the hell is happening with that chicken. The chicken has been a running joke since the show started and was last seen in the trailer for season 6. Could this mean that the cast are heading back to minimum security?
We’ll have to wait until July 26th to find out. You can watch the trailer for yourself here.

]]>Above everything else, we want Tasty to get the justice she deserves. At the end of season 6, she was charged with a murder she did not commit. Tasty is one of the most moral and likable characters in the show and we desperately want things to turn out OK. It’s not looking promising though.
MCC are pure evil and if anyone should be in prison, it’s Linda. Although she has already had her taste of prison life, we’d still like to see her behind bars along with everyone else responsible for the prison riot. If Piper can be the one to take her down, that would be even better.
Season 6 ended awfully for Blanca. She was under the impression she would be released only to wind up in an immigration detention center. We can only hope that she will reunite with Diablo before the season is up.
We’d love to see a lot of our favorite characters get out early but as annoying as she is, we have been reluctantly rooting for Piper since episode one. It would be nice to see her and Alex finally get some time together on the outside.
Although Lorna seems perfectly happy with her Italian husband who lives with his mom, a part of us is always going to want her to end up with Nicky, who loves her for who she is.
Season 6 split the Litchfield prisoners into separate prisons. Pensatucky and Boo were separated along with Flacca and Maritza. Even if they don’t get to reunite, it would be nice to see some more of Boo before the season is up.
As controversial as this is, we hope that Bayley gets some peace of mind after the death of Poussey. What happened is unforgivable but we want MCC to pay. Hopefully, Bayley can understand that he is not the only one responsible and can press charges against the evil corporate industry who allowed the riot to happen.

]]>This was now confirmed by Lionsgate TV Group chairman Kevin Beggs, who said that they would talk with the Orange Is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan about a “potential sequel.”
“We’re really proud of the long run that Orange Is the New Black had,” Beggs told reporters on Thursday. “It remains one of Netflix’s most-watched shows. We’re ending on a high note. Keep in mind we own that series and will be distributing it for years to come. We’re already in discussions and, when the timing is right, we’ll talk further with Jenji about a potential sequel.”
The idea of Orange Is the New Black sequel or spinoff isn’t something new, considering the fact that show’s executive producer Tara Herrmann told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year that there were some discussions about the continuation of the show’s story. According to Herrmann, potential ideas included Broadway production, or following couples Larry Bloom (Jason Biggs) and Polly Harper (Maria Dizzia) or Cal and Carol Chapman (Deborah Rush).
Based on Piper Kerman’s memoir of the same name, Orange Is the New Black premiered on Netflix in 2013 focusing on the experiences of Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) during her stay in a minimum-security women’s federal prison. The show received critical acclaim and managed to win three Emmy Awards during its run.
Despite keeping the popularity among the audience and critics, the show was canceled by Netflix in October with streaming service giant announcing that season seven of Orange Is the New Black, which will premiere in early 2019, will also be its last.

“After seven seasons, it’s time to be released from prison,” said series creator Jenji Kohan in a statement. “I will miss all the badass ladies of Litchfield and the incredible crew we’ve worked with. My heart is orange but fade to black.“
The season seven of the series is set to premiere in summer of 2019.
“During the production of Season 1, everyone involved with Orange Is The New Black felt like we knew a special secret we couldn’t wait to share with the world. Since then, we have laughed, cried, raged, and roared with the women of Litchfield, and every moment spent with them felt like borrowed time — too good to last forever,” said VP of Original Content for Netflix Cindy Holland in a statement.
“We will be sad to say goodbye, but we will definitely be going out on a high. We are grateful to Jenji Kohan and her groundbreaking vision; to her supremely talented team of writers and producers; and to a once-in-a-lifetime cast and crew for creating a truly special work of art that has inspired conversations and connected audiences around the world.”
Orange Is the New Black premiered in 2013, revolving around Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), a woman who gets sentenced to spend 15 months in a minimum-security women’s federal prison. The show immediately became a hit with both the audience and critics and stands as the most watched Netflix’s original series. The enthusiasm for the show, however, started dropping, which probably caused the decision to end it.
Besides Schilling, the cast of Orange Is the New Black also includes Kate Mulgrew, Laura Prepon, Laverne Cox, Dascha Polanco, Taryn Manning, Yael Stone, Aduba, Lea DeLaria, Adrienne C. Moore, Elizabeth Rodriguez Michael Harney, and Nick Sandow.
