]]>Phoenix and Aster realized they were a match made in heaven while working on Beau Is Afraid and decided to join forces again. The Oscar winner will play one of the lead roles in Eddington, and he’ll be joined by several more A-list stars.
The two-time Oscar winner Emma Stone (Poor Things), Oscar nominee Austin Butler (Dune: Part Two), and Emmy nominee Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) will also star in this project, alongside supporting players Luke Grimes (Yellowstone), Deirdre O’Connell (Outer Range), Micheal Ward (Top Boy), and Clifton Collins Jr. (Jockey).
Aster will continue his successful partnership with A24, and Eddington marks his fourth collaboration with the studio, following Hereditary, Midsommar, and Beau Is Afraid. He’ll write, direct, and produce this project through his Square Peg banner.
Aster previously described Eddington as “a revisionist Western” and “a film noir ensemble Western dark comedy”. It will center on a small-town New Mexico sheriff with higher aspirations, according to Variety.

]]>Disney representatives have expressed content with Cruella’s performance, both with the critics, moviegoers, and Disney+ subscribers, and they’re looking forward to another chapter of this story.
“We are very pleased with Cruella’s box office success, in conjunction with its strong Disney+ Premier Access performance to date… We look forward to a long run as audiences continue to enjoy this fantastic film,” said a Disney spokesperson.
Director Craig Gillespie and writer Tony McNamara are expected to come back for the sequel, but nothing is official just yet because the sequel is still in the early stages of development.
Cruella draws inspiration from Dodie Smith’s novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians and tells the origin story of the titular villain. In addition to Emma Stone, the film also stars Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Mark Strong. It was released simultaneously on Disney+ and in US theaters on May 28th.

More details about Disney’s highly-anticipated Cruella feature were unveiled Saturday by Disney Film chief Sean Bailey and director Craig Gillespie during the Walt Disney Studios presentation at D23.
Most importantly — the backstory to “one of Disney’s so-called great villains” will take place in the punk rock era of the 1970s.

The latest version of the script was penned by Tony McNamara. Marc Platt, Kristin Burr and Andrew Gunn are producing the film.

]]>Besides the original cast, Zombieland 2 will also see Ruben Fleischer returning as a director while Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese will pen the script once again.
The original Zombieland movie revolved around a virus outbreak that turned most of the humans on the planet into bloodthirsty zombies. Four strangers who managed to survive this zombie apocalypse decide to join their forces and try to reach safe heaven together.
The movie ended up receiving positive reviews from the critics and earning $102.4 million compared to its $23.6 million budget. Over time, the film gained cult status.
“This is one of those projects that fans have wanted to see happen for a long time — and no one wanted to see it happen more than Emma, Woody, Jesse and Abigail,” said Columbia Pictures president Sanford Panitch in a statement.
“These are some of the most in-demand actors, and I think they are making this movie because they love these characters. We are thrilled Ruben was willing to come back to direct the sequel, as his work on Venom has been truly amazing.”
According to the press release from the studio, Zombieland 2 will “focus on comic mayhem, taking the quartet from the White House to the American heartland as they face off against new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors.”
The movie will also see Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita, and Little Rock facing the “growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.”

]]>The post First Trailer for “The Favourite” Is Here, and It’s Royally Mad appeared first on Entertainment For Us.
]]>This dark comedy about the absurdity of court life takes place in early 18th century England. Olivia Colman gives a performance of a lifetime as frail Queen Anne. Her most trusted advisor Lady Sara (Rachel Weisz) is the one who has to take care of things as the monarch sinks further and further into madness. Everything changes when new servant Abigail (Emma Stone) comes to court. The two ladies quickly become rivals and end up competing for the Queen’s affection.
The Favourite is a reunion of sorts since both Colman and Weisz previously starred in The Lobster, directed by Lanthimos. He received one Academy Award nomination for this project, and his upcoming period drama could easily replicate this success.
The movie will premiere on November 23rd, in the peak of awards season, so it seems like another Oscar darling. Even if Lanthimos’s take on monarchy isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, it’s clear we can expect three powerhouse performances. Will Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone add another Oscar to their awards shelf? Let’s wait and see!
