In sci-fi movies, robots are either trying to take over the world or are being so darn cute that we can’t help but fall in love with them, even if it’s against our best interest. Robots aren’t supposed to feel emotion but these ten robots deserve credit for their fantastic personalities.

Marvin the Paranoid Android (The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy)

Marvin the Paranoid Android is one of the best characters in the film. Radiohead must have thought so too, because they wrote one of their biggest hits about him.

Nexus-6 Pris (Blade Runner)

The blond and gothy Pris from Scott Ridley’s original Blade Runner is cool, badass and well, lethal.

Ultron (Avengers: Age of Ultron)

The deadly robot Ultron in the Marvel Cinematic Universe makes quite the villain.

Bender (Futurama)

Bender has a terrible attitude, but he is hilarious, so we’ll let him on the list.

Wall-E (Wall-E)

Wall-E has got to be the most lovable robot (who doesn’t really say anything) of all time. And he saved the human race, so that’s good too.

Terminator (Terminator)

Terminator is one of the most awesome looking robots we can think of.

Data (Star Trek)

Does Data feel love?

Bumblebee (Transformers)

The Transformers franchise went downhill pretty rapidly, but Bumblebee still remains one of our top bots.

R2-D2 and C3PO (Star Wars)

Well, obviously.

K-9 (Doctor Who)

The only thing in sci-fi better than a friendly robot, is a friendly robot dog.

When you love a movie, it can be disappointing when the sequel flunks or the franchise finishes. The best place to get more from your favorite flicks is to get the video game, where hours of extra footage and story lines have been created. You even get to play as your favorite character. Here are 5 of the best video games that were based on movies.

Blade Runner

The Blade Runner video game takes Ridley Scott’s sci-fi cult classic and makes you hunt down clues and watch clips to figure out where to go next. The LA Noire futuristic setting is also a huge feature.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

This is basically any LOTR nerd’s dream come true. Battle your way through Middle Earth as Aragorn, Legolas, or Gimli in this action-packed Tolkien-inspired game.

Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader

The level of detail when this game was made was untouchable. It’s still one of the coolest video games made.

Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4

The 2018 Spider-Man game is ridiculously detailed. You can swing through its extremely accurate video replica of NYC, fighting bad guys and accessing new Spider-Man stories. Shout out to the cameo from the late great Stan Lee and the Pride flags added to the game.

The Thing

This survival-horror game picks up where John Carpenter’s original movie left off. It’s so creepy and stressful that the writer actually struggled to finish it.

For those of you haven’t heard about it, Secret Cinema is one of the biggest and best immersive cinema events to date and takes place annually in London. This year, Secret Cinema presented Blade Runner – The Final Cut: A Secret Live Experience.

In the run up to the big day, ticket holders were assigned characters and were told to bring specific items, such as old family photos or a love letter from an old friend. These aren’t essential but can be used to get into places and get cool stuff once you are inside. Guests were also told to bring a clear umbrella, which we definitely recommend because you will get wet!

We don’t want to give anything away as it’s meant to be a secret, but the Secret Cinema team did an astounding job transforming the venue into the futuristic LA seen in the original Blade Runner movie. There are plenty of different rooms to visit featuring different characters from the film, so we recommend getting there early so that you have time to visit all the different rooms before sitting down for the screening.

If you want to make the most out of the immersive experience, don’t be afraid to really dress up, because trust us, you won’t be the only one. When you get there (early), look out for members of the crew and interact with them as much as you can. Even the bar staff will give you ‘clues’ if you ask.

All in all, the experience is unlike anything else we have experienced, and if you are a Blade Runner or sci-fi fan, it’s an absolute must do this summer.

Secret Cinema presents a secret live experience of Blade Runner: The Final Cut – “A chance to begin again.”

Since 2007, Secret Cinema has taken the immersive world of cinema by storm. It takes the movie sets of cult classics like Dirty Dancing and 28 Days Later and rebuilds them in a secret London location for fans to enjoy. Ticket holders are required to dress up and live actors dance, sing or chase you zombie style around the set for a truly spectacular and immersive experience.

This Spring, Secret Cinema will be bringing Blade Runner to life and they promise that the experience will be the most epic dream yet. The second wave of tickets has been released after the first round of tickets sold out faster than ever.

We are not sure what to expect, but if it is anything like the 2010 Secret Cinema Blade Runner experience, we have every reason to be excited. The movie explores a dystopian LA and so the set is bound to be surreal but impressive. Attendees will be expected to dress as assigned characters so if you have tickets, it’s time to dig into the ‘neo-noir futurist’ section of your wardrobe. Upon arrival, ticket holders will have to put their phone in an envelope and cannot video or photograph the event – it is a secret after all!
