]]>“It’s a beautiful Gotham. What I would like to see someone tackle is what Batman looks like from that Gotham,” Phillips told Variety.
This project is not to be confused with the previously reported sequel (that could or could not be happening), and in any case, Phillips added that it definitely won’t be the one to make that movie.
“I’m not saying I’m going to do that. What was interesting to me about the inclusion of Batman in our movie was, ‘What kind of Batman does that Gotham make?’ That’s all I meant by that,” he said.
Last year’s Joker was the fourth of Warner Bros.’ DC Comics films to hit the $1 billion mark.

]]>Warner Bros. confirmed last week that Robert Pattinson would be taking over the role of the Caped Crusader from Ben Affleck.
The Twilight actor follows a long list of actors who have portrayed Bruce Wayne, including Affleck, Christian Bale, George Clooney, Michael Keaton, and Val Kilmer.
According to Deadline, Pattinson will be playing Batman in a trilogy directed by Matt Reeves, who recently brought us Planet of the Apes.
While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Reeves described the upcoming films as “more Batman in his detective mode that we’ve seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. [Bruce Wayne] is supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been.”
The first feature of the trilogy, due out in 2021, is currently titled The Batman.
“What it will be called ultimately, I don’t know,” Reeves said.

]]>Now, however, it appears that there is no doubt we will get a new Caped Crusader in future movies.
Warner Bros. recently revealed that the upcoming Batman stand-alone movie, directed by Matt Reeves, is scheduled for release on June 25th, 2021.
Shortly after the announcement, Affleck went to social media, and said that he is excited to see Reeves’ vision “come to life.”
Deadline later confirmed that this tweet confirmed that the actor won’t be returning to his role. According to magazine’s sources, the upcoming Batman movie will focus on younger version of the character.
Ben Affleck made his debut as Batman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and then reprised the role in Suicide Squad and Justice League. He was originally attached as a star, writer, and director of a standalone Batman movie, but ended up handing over the writing and directorial duties to Matt Reeves in February 2017.
Affleck isn’t the only actor that is leaving DC Extended Universe, with Henry Cavill hinting late last year that his stint as Superman might be over as well. It remains unclear what will happen with the rest of the Justice League core, which includes Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as Flash, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.

]]>The series will revolve around Alfred Pennyworth as opposed to Bruce Wayne. Although Heller worked on Gotham, the series is not a spinoff but is a completely new story about Alfred’s origins as a former soldier and his relationship with Bruce Wayne’s billionaire father in 1960s London.
We know that Sean Pertwee, who played Alfred in Gotham, will not be starring in the series, although casting has not yet begun. Heller will pen the script and executive produce. Danny Cannon, who worked on Gotham, will reunite with Heller to executive produce and direct the pilot.
Epix president, Michael Wright said about the show:
“As genuine fans of these classic DC characters, as well as the incredibly talented Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon, we couldn’t be more excited to make Epix the home of this series,” he claimed. “We can’t wait to work with Bruno and Danny—along with Peter Roth, Susan Rovner, Brett Paul and the team at Warner Horizon—on this fantastic origin story.”
“Michael and his colleagues have created the perfect venue for original storytelling, and all of us working on Pennyworth are thrilled to be on the Epix slate,” Heller and Cannon said in a joint statement.

A villain who does whatever the hell she feels like. We loved Margot Robbie’s portrayal in Suicide Squad.
9. Ozymandis (The Watchmen)
DC has a tendency to blur the lines between black and white/good and evil. Ozymandis epitomizes this in his character.
8. Loki (Thor)
He’s been around in mythology for centuries but we love Tom Hiddleston’s punky and rightly mischievous version of Loki.
7. Thanos (Guardians of The Galaxy)
We haven’t seen much of him yet, but we can’t wait to see him attempt to destroy half the universe in Avengers: Infinity War. Big talk from a pretty big guy.
6. Venom (Spider-Man)
Everyone has a dark side, even Spider-Man.
5. Mystique (X-Men)
She alternates between sides but Mystique’s shapeshifting powers make her a powerful ally.
4. Magneto (X-Men)
Magneto is a great villain and a hero from where he’s standing.
3. Catwoman (Batman)
She’s cool, she’s sexy and she doesn’t follow the rules.
2. Hela (Thor)
We loved Hela in Thor: Ragnarok. Her costume was amazing and she effortlessly crushed Thor’s hammer.
1. The Joker (Batman)
“Whatever doesn’t kill you, simply makes you stranger…” An utter nutter who scarily sometimes makes worrying sense… in an insane kind of way.

]]>Although Christian Bale isn’t portraying the Caped Crusader anymore, he recently spoke on Variety’s Playback podcast and revealed how he feels about the role and how it influenced his career.
“(Have) mixed emotions about it,” said Bale. “I’m always eternally grateful to Chris. For instance, ‘Rescue Dawn,’ Werner [Herzog] and I had been trying to put that together for a few years. ‘American Psycho,’ Mary Harron and I had been trying to put that together for a few years. No one was interested. Why? Me. Suddenly everyone said, ‘Yeah, alright. We’ll go with him.’ It did change everything. It was the first time I had done a film of that magnitude. That was a real learning curve for me. I wrestled with it for a long time. I still do on occasions. But I’m just learning, hey, accept the good things.”
After wrapping up the third Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, and finishing the trilogy in 2012, Christian Bale went on to star in Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods and Kings, as well as some small-budget movies like Knight of Cups. His latest acting effort was 2017’s period western Hostiles.
