]]>The couple are planning to use the art of storytelling in order to tell the stories of remarkable people they came across when they occupied the White House.
They will produce content through the production company they set up called Higher Ground.
“President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama have entered into a multi-year agreement to produce films and shows for Netflix, potentially including scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries, and features,” the company said in a statement.
“One of the simple joys of our time in public service was getting to meet so many fascinating people from all walks of life, and to help them share their experiences with a wider audience,” Mr. Obama said.
“That’s why Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix – we hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world.”

]]>Under the proposed deal, Obama and his former first lady Michelle Obama will create exclusive content which would only be available on Netflix. The number of shows which will be made has yet to be decided.
It has further been reported that Obama will not use the show as a means to make known his views towards current U.S President Donald Trump with whom he differs with on a lot of issues or conservative critics.
Rather it has been reported that the Obama’s intention is to create shows that will highlight inspirational stories. The Netflix deal will give the Obamas an unfiltered method of communication with the public, similar to the audiences which they already reach through social media.
