It’s already been two years since the second season of Euphoria premiered on HBO, and its return is nowhere in sight. Earlier this week, HBO announced that the Season 3 shot has been pushed again, and here’s everything you should know after the most recent delay.
Scripts Aren’t Finished
Euphoria fans are blaming the most recent delay on its creator Sam Levinson. Production start had to be pushed because the scripts haven’t been finalized yet, but HBO claims they “remain committed to making an exceptional third season” alongside Levinson.
Cast Pursuing Other Projects
Since scripts are still in the work, HBO announced they’re allowing the show’s in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities in the interim. Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, and Sydney Sweeney emerged as the show’s biggest breakout stars since Euphoria first premiered while Colman Domingo scored an Oscar nomination and lined up several high-profile projects.
Production & Premiere Date
It remains unclear when Euphoria will start shooting again in the face of the most recent delay, but Deadline reports that filming is expected to begin within the next couple of months. Season 3 still doesn’t have an official release date, but HBO remains determined to bring it back in 2025.
