Bruce Campbell to Make One Last Appearance as Ash in New “Evil Dead” Video Game

After Starz decided to cancel comedy horror series Ash Vs. Evil Dead, Bruce Campbell announced that he is retiring from portraying the character of Ash Williams. Still, it looks like Campbell will step into Ash’s shoes one final time.

In a recent interview, the 60 year old revealed that he would voice Ash in the new Evil Dead video game.

“I have previous obligations I have to fulfill. They are doing a video game,” said Campbell. “A whole immersive kind of dealio. I’ll be Ash for that, because I wouldn’t want someone else’s voice hamming it up.”

The role of Ash Williams in Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead film franchise became a staple of Bruce Campbell’s acting career. After portraying the character in the original trilogy, released between 1981 and 1992, Campbell returned in 2013’s Evil Dead, which served both a reboot and a loose continuation of the series.

After the movie met with positive reactions, a TV series titled Ash Vs. Evil Dead was developed and premiered in 2015 with Campbell in the role of Ash once again. The series, however, struggled to find the audience and it was canceled after three seasons in April 2018.

The fans petitioned to resurrect the series on Netflix, but with no success. It was then when Bruce Campbell decided to reveal he has retired from portraying the character.
