The show will be returning to NBC where it left off with Season 21.

Cast details and a premiere date haven’t been announced yet, but characters from the original series are expected to return.

The Law & Order franchise has had over a dozen spinoffs, with the latest one being Law & Order: Organized Crime, starring former Law & Order: SVU actor Chris Meloni.

Law & Order: SVU is the longest-running series in the franchise—it premiered in 1999 and it’s currently in its 23rd season. Law & Order: Criminal Intent was on air for almost 10 years.

Dick Wolf has been trying to revive the show for years and it’s returning with Rick Eid as showrunner.

“There are very few things in life that are literally dreams come true,” Wolf said to Variety about the show being reviced. “This is mine.”

In the trailer, Peter Parker faces the past and he tries to come up with a supernatural solution and to his identity as Spider-Man being exposed. He turns to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for a spell to undo the reveal, which results in Parker and Strange going into a multiverse that presents lots of dangerous threats.

The multiverse brings together previous villains in the Spider-Man cinematic franchises including Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus, Jamie Foxx’s Electro, and Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin.

Jon Watts will be returning as director for the third installment in the series. Reprising their roles in the movie are Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Benedict Wong as Wong, and Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan.

Directed by Oscar-nominated director Ridley Scott and based on Eric Jager’s book The Last Duel: A True Story of Crime, Scandal, and Trial by Combat in Medieval France, the film follows one of France’s last legally sanctioned duels. Set in 1386, King Charles VI (Affleck) declares a duel between knight Jean de Carrouges (Damon) and his squire Jacques LeGris (Driver) to settle a debt after the knight’s wife (Comer) claims she was sexually assaulted. The two will fight to death and whoever survives is the truth-teller in God’s eyes. If Carrouges loses, his wife will be burned at the stake for false accusations.

Nicole Holofcener, Affleck, and Damon wrote the film, which is based on true events. Scott, Kevin J. Walsh, Jennifer Fox, Holofcener, Damon, and Affleck serve as producers. Kevin Halloran, Drew Vinton, and Madison Ainley are executive producers.

The Gossip Girl reboot is set eight years after the original show and it follows a new generation of NYC private school teens. This time around, social media plays a pivotal role in the series. The film, which was based on the novel, takes place in an Oregon psychiatric hospital and starred Jack Nicholson as Randle McMurphy, a new patient at the mental institution and his struggle to rise up against the evil nurse, Mildred Ratched played by Louise Fletcher.

Ryan Murphy and Evan Romansky’s Ratched gives us an origin story of the infamous Nurse Ratched. Sarah Paulson plays the title role and we see her deceive her way into Lucia’s State Hospital which is run by Dr. Hanover (Jon Jon Briones). This is truly just the beginning of Nurse Ratched as she will stop at nothing to get what she wants. It seems as though she has no moral compass—she engages in blackmail, importunes a suicide, and poisons a patient, just to make her way into the nursing staff at the mental hospital. And did we mention all of this happens by Episode 2?

Throughout the eight-episode series, we see that Mildred Ratched has a purpose for all of her nasty behaviors, and what seems to guide her is her love for her brother, Edmund Tolleson (Finn Wittrock), who’s a patient at the hospital after killing three priests and traumatizing a fourth.

We also see that Ratched did not have an easy childhood and that much of what she does may be a result of her less than perfect formative years. We learn that Mildred grew up as an orphan and was placed in the system with another child, Edmund, who she views as her brother. While in the system, they were tortured by all their caregivers and asked to perform sexual asks on one another before Edmund decides to murder his last set of caregivers.

While Nurse Ratched has a clearly evil side, we also see her softer side when she mercifully kills badly injured soldiers while she’s an army nurse after they beg her to end their pain. She also starts a love affair with Gwendolyn Briggs (Cynthia Nixon) and will do anything to make sure that her lover is cancer-free, healthy, and happy.

Nurse Ratched refers to herself as an “angel of mercy” which begs us to think is there such a thing and is Nurse Ratched really that bad? Honestly, after seeing Ratched we’re kind of rooting for Mildred, but we know that she returns to her evil ways when she returns as head nurse in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

We’re hoping there’s a second season to Ratched so we can continue to learn more about Mildred Ratched and how she becomes a head nurse at the Oregon psychiatric hospital.
