5 Brilliant Hermione Granger Moments

Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe, and Emma Watson in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban."

It’s fair to say that if it wasn’t for Hermione, things wouldn’t have turned out quite as triumphant as they did at the end of the seven Harry Potter installments. The countless times she saved the day and her meticulous planning aside, here are five brilliant Hermione Granger moments.

When she doesn’t snitch on Harry and Ron

In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Hermione is introduced as a know-it-all with no friends. When Ron and Harry save her from the troll in the toilets and Professor McGonagall asks why they are there, she lies to get Harry and Ron out of trouble. That scene was essentially the start of their friendship.

When she disguises herself as Bellatrix

In the first part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Hermione disguises herself as Bellatrix so that she can retrieve the Horcrux from the witch’s vault. Watching Helena Bonham Carter play Hermione pretending to be a Death Eater is fantastic to watch.

When she goes to the dance with Krum

When Hermione shows up to the dance with heart throb Viktor Krum in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, everyone’s jaw drops with jealousy. It’s a classic rom-com ‘geek gets the guy’ cliché but she nails it.

Hermione kisses Ron

In the final film, Hermione and Ron finally kiss after years of the ‘will they/won’t they?’ dynamic. It’s a heroic, passionate kiss and it only took them one shot to get right!

When she punches Malfoy in the face

Quite possibly the best Hermione moment is when after three years of being tormented by Malfoy, she has had enough and threatens him with her wand. When Harry and Ron remind her he’s not worth getting expelled for, she punches him square in the face and he runs off crying like a little girl.
