The Marvel Movies We Still Have to Look Forward to

Jessica Chastain and Sophie Turner in Dark Phoenix

Avengers: Endgame might have dramatically ended the Avengers era, but that doesn’t mean that Marvel will be calling it a day just yet. There are plenty of Marvel features to look forward to, including the exciting upcoming features below.

Dark Phoenix (June 2019)

Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner will star as Jean Grey in a new X-Men film. The film will delve into the story of the Dark Phoenix, filling in all the gaps that X-Men: The Last Stand missed.

Spider-Man: Far From Home (July 2019)

The upcoming Spider-Man movie stars Tom Holland and will be set in Venice, Italy shortly after the big battle against Thanos went down. Jake Gyllenhaal will star as Mysterio and the movie will refreshingly fun and action-packed after the intensity of Endgame.

The New Mutants (April 2020)

Logan introduced a group of young mutants, meaning Marvel can make new X-Men movies without having to find new ways to make the former cast look younger. An early trailer indicated that the film will be more of an action horror and may be a stand-alone movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2020)

Disney recently rehired James Gunn to direct the third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. There’s no set release date yet but it is scheduled for 2020.

Shang-Chi

Shang-Chi will be the first Marvel movie with an Asian superhero. Sang-Chi is a master of Kung Gu and in the comics, he teams up with the Avengers. The release date has not yet been set but we anticipate that it will arrive within the next year.

The Eternals

The Eternals are similar to the X-Men except they are humans who have been genetically modified to have super-powers. Chloé Zhao will direct the feature but we imagine it will be a couple of years before this one is with us.
