The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel follows the trials and tribulations of a young housewife Midge Maisel, whose life turns upside down after her divorce. After discovering she has a knack for stand-up comedy, Midge decides to try and build a career in the male-dominated comedy scene of the early 60s.

“It’s two steps forward, three steps back, and I’m tired of it,” she tells her agent Susie in the trailer for Season 5, which will see her find herself closer than ever to the success she’s dreamed of, only to discover that closer than ever is still so far away.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel stars Rachel Brosnahan in the titular role, while the rest of the ensemble includes Alex Borstein, Michael Zegen, Marin Hinkle, Tony Shalhoub, Kevin Pollak, Caroline Aaron, and Luke Kirby.

Season 5 of the Emmy-winning comedy series will return to Amazon Prime Video on April 14. Following its three-episode premiere, the remaining six episodes will air weekly.

That’s right The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel fans — Amazon announced Thursday that the show has been renewed for a fourth season. 

The renewal comes on the heels of the series’ current season’s December 6 premiere. It was confirmed via the show’s Twitter account, “It’s time for an encore. #MrsMaisel is returning for Season 4!”

“We were thrilled to hear that for the fourth time, we do not have to pack up and vacate the premises,” said Creator and Executive Producer Amy Sherman-Palladino and Executive Producer Daniel Palladino. “We’d like to thank Amazon for all their faith and support, their partnership and enthusiasm, and for letting us hang with our favorite people, the cast and crew of Maisel, for a little while longer.”

“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has been a worldwide phenomenon, and Season 3 has been no exception, with the series’ most watched opening weekend ever. The new clip for the Emmy-winning comedy from Amazon sees Midge, played by Rachel Brosnahan, going across the country after taking her manager Shy Baldwin (Leroy McClain) up on his offer to tour with him at the end of season two. 

Midge who gets a taste of the spotlight outside New York City quickly gets a reality check from Susie who reminds her that “This is the big leagues, kid. Gotta start acting like professionals.” But Midge being Midge is “grabbing her moment and having a marvelous time,” promising that “this is the first of a million tours.”
