]]>According to estimates, the sixth Terminator movie, Terminator: Dark Fate is looking to open to $28 million opening weekend at 4,086 North American locations.
With forecasts estimated in the $40 million range and with a price tag of $185 million (some even say $196 million), it’s not looking box office good for the film.
Battling for second place is Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and Joker which are in their third and fifth weekends respectively. Joker is expected to hit the 297 million in domestic grosses mark by the weekend’s end.
Harriet Tubman biopic Harriet is coming in third hauling between $10 million and $11 million at 2,059 sites. It is followed by The Addams Family, Arctic Dogs and Motherless Brooklyn with $7.2 and $2-3 million respectively.

]]>Hamilton recently made an appearance at CinemaCon in order to promote Terminator: Dark Fate, the sixth installment in Terminator film franchise, which marks her return to the series after 25 years. During the panel she offered her opinion on the movies that came after Judgment Day and didn’t hold anything back.
“They’re very forgettable, aren’t they?” said Hamilton. “You start something, and you’re invested in the franchise, but somehow the characters that you care about weren’t there. Too many people, too many story points. So, I think we’ve done a good job of narrowing down the focus again, so it will echo the first two films.”
Hamilton also added that she wasn’t all that interested in returning to the franchise at first but was convinced by Terminator creator James Cameroon.
“I gave it probably six weeks of intense thinking and consideration before deciding to do it,” she explained. “I wasn’t sure if I wanted to. I didn’t want it to look like a shameless money grab. I am living this quiet, lovely life that doesn’t involve being a celebrity, and you really have to think, do I really want to trade that in again for another 15 minutes?”
Terminator: Dark Fate, which is set for release on November 1, 2019, will ignore the previous three movies in the series and serve as a direct sequel to Judgment Day. Although Cameroon, who directed the original and the first sequel, handed over the directorial duties to Tim Miller, he still was heavily involved in the story and filming while also serving as an executive producer.
