]]>Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki made an appearance at the Las Vegas convention dedicated to the show over the weekend and clarified the circumstances revolving around the decision to wrap up the series.
“We wanted to communicate to you guys that this was a community decision,” – Padalecki told the audience. “The network and the studio didn’t say, ‘get out of here, you guys are done.”
“It wasn’t an easy decision,” explained Ackles. “It was months and months, if not years, of discussion between he and I, between the rest of the cast, between the crew, between our writers, between our producers, between the studio, between the network. Nobody wanted to see this show fizzle out.”
“I think that it was everyone wanting to do the biggest service to the show that we could by going out strong,” he added. “It just seemed like the writing was kind of on the wall as to when that was happening. Everybody kind of felt that it was coming soon, and so it was just taking that leap of faith of going like, ‘Well guys, let’s get out the paint and paint that finish line because what we’ve accomplished is unlike any other.'”
The 15th and final season of Supernatural will have 20 episodes and it is expected to premiere in October.

]]>In addition to the Arrowverse shows, Riverdale, Charmed, Dynasty, and Legacies will also get an additional season, while Supernatural will be returning for its 15th season.
The news about the renewals for these 10 shows was delivered by The CW’s President Mark Pedowitz during the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour.
“This season, we expanded our primetime schedule to six nights with the addition of Sunday — which has been an unqualified success for the network, our affiliates and our advertisers. In addition to growing our schedule across the week, we also continue to add more year-round programming. The early renewal of these signature CW series gives us a head start on laying out the 2019-2020 season, and this is just the beginning,” said Pedowitz.
“These shows provide a strong foundation for our multi-platform programming strategy, and we look forward to building on this with even more returning and new shows as we approach the May upfront.”
Further details regarding the renewals, including the episode count and possible series’ endings, will be revealed in May. This is when the network will also determine the fate of The 100, Roswell, New Mexico, All American and In the Dark. We previously learned that Jane the Virgin, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and iZombie are heading into their final season.

]]>But the two monster-hunting brothers have a new surprise up their sleeve for this week’s episode – they’re going on an adventure with Scooby-Doo and the gang!
“I’m really excited for Scooby-Doo to be part of the Supernatural lore,” actor Jared Padelecki, who plays Sam Winchester, told Den of Geek. “But I’m more excited for the Supernatural lore to be a part of the Scooby-Doo canon. That’s cool for me, you know what I mean? That now there’s a footnote about Supernatural when people are talking about Scooby-Doo.”
Padelecki revealed even had an opportunity to be in Scooby-Doo, but turned it down. He told Den of Geek:
“I grew up watching Scooby-Doo and I remember when the Scooby-Doo movies came out, and they wanted me to try out for Shaggy. I was young, and Lillard’s great — I fought not to do it. I don’t want to… I’m a big James Bond fan, not that I could ever be James Bond. Someone’s like ‘Would you try out?’ No, I wouldn’t, cause I wanna watch that as something I enjoy.”
In the episode, airing March 29th, Sam (Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles), and Castiel (Misha Collins) are transported into the animated world of Scooby-Doo where they join forces with the Scooby gang to solve a ghostly mystery.
