]]>This year, Tarantino is offering Once Upon A Time In Hollywood which stars Bradd Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio as fading TV stars in ’60s Hollywood. If the film had received poor ratings, one might be able to begin to fathom why Tarantino may consider it’s time to turn in the hat. As it stands, however, the film is rated 9.6/10 on IMDB and 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. So why does the genius director want to quit?
“I think when it comes to theatrical movies, I’ve come to the end of the road,” the director told Australian GQ. “I see myself writing film books and starting to write theatre, so I’ll still be creative. I just think I’ve given all I have to give to movies.”
Brad Pitt added: “I don’t think he’s bluffing at all. I think he’s dead serious. And I kind of openly lament that to him, but he understands the math of when he feels like directors start falling off their game. But he has other plans and we’re not going to have to say goodbye for a long time.”
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will be released in cinemas on July 26.

]]>The Once Upon Time in Hollywood director has just debuted his 9th film at Cannes ahead of its July release, but he is already planning his next production.
According to Collider, Tarantino is making a crossover film using his classic Django Unchained and… Zorro.
The filmmaker previously penned a comic book that takes place years after the movie, in which bounty hunter Django once again embarks on the road, taking up odd jobs, and comes across Zorro. The unlikely pair then team up to free indigenous people from slavery.
Jerrod Carmichael has been tapped to write the screenplay for Django/Zorro, and it is possible Tarantino may direct it. If he does take on direction duties, this would be Tarantino’s 10th film — which he has often stated will be his last.

]]>David Lynch
From Blue Velvet to Eraserhead, David Lynch has a way of bringing his audience into his own imaginary world. His unique use of surreal concepts and imagery make watching his movies a very particular experience.
Stanley Kubrick
From 2001: A Space Odyssey to A Clockwork Orange and The Shining, Kubrick has a special way with the camera. All of his most reputable movies have received at least 8.0 on IMDB, and the director has the ability to work his magic across multiple genres.
Tarantino’s movies are less about linear story lines, and more about the art of the story itself. His characters and their lives are always deeply compelling to watch, and the general feel of his films are easily identifiable.
Wes Anderson
Wes Anderson’s films often use a special colorscape and are praised for their stunning visual impact. He is regarded by many as a modern-day auteur, in the way he consistently creates gorgeous stylistic movies.
Tim Burton
Although not all of his movies are up to the standards of Pulp Fiction or The Shining, Tim Burton cannot be criticized when it comes to his creativity. His movies all take place in a strange, gothic world which can only be described as “Burton-esque.” From Edward Scissorhands to his recent remakes of Alice In Wonderland, Burton’s imagination is beautifully unique.

]]>“Quentin Tarantino went into J.J. [Abrams]’s offices and pitched him an idea for a Star Trek movie.” – Urban said at this year’s Trekonderoga. “I know a little bit about what that is and it’s bananas… You shouldn’t worry that it is going to be full of obscenity and stuff. He wants an R-rating to really make those beats of consequence land. If it’s not PG, if someone gets sucked out into space, which we have all seen before, we might see them get disemboweled first… It allows some breadth… gives him some leeway to do that. To me, that was always one of the things I loved about what DeForest Kelley did. He would actually capture the horror of space. That look in his eyes of sheer terror always struck me when I was a kid.”
The overall state of the Star Trek franchise looks great at the moment, with the most recent series Star Trek: Discovery being warmly received by the audience. There is also another television project in the works which will see Patrick Stewart reprising his legendary role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation. On the movie front, the things are not so good.
The sequel to 2016’s Star Trek Beyond is still stuck in development, and there are no indications when will the movie enter production. The answer could easily be never since Chris Hemsworth reportedly won’t reprise his role as George Kirk. Chris Pine, who plays the movie’s lead character, Captain James T. Kirk, is also considering dropping out due to contract disputes.
On the other hand, Quentin Tarantino’s project is currently just an idea. The movie is still to enter the production and currently doesn’t have any members of the cast confirmed. Let’s hope that will change soon.
