]]>Fox’s comedy pilot has tapped Lawson to star in Geniuses (working title)written and executive produced by LA to Vegas creator/executive producer Lon Zimmet.
The multi-camera comedy pilot follows a blue-collar couple in South Jersey trying to get by while raising four kids, three of whom just happen to be certified geniuses. Lawson will play Cay, the family’s matriarch and clear boss of the bunch. A true Jersey girl, she’s intuitive, tough and has a strong nose for BS, which is a useful skill at her job as a pit boss at an Atlantic City casino.
Lawson’s other credits include Fox’s Lethal Weapon, The Ranch and Santa Clarita Diet. She also starred as Juliet O’Hara on Psych: The Movie and set to star in the forthcoming follow up Psych: The Movie 2.
Geniuses is one of six currently in the works at Fox.

Jane fan favorite Camil, who starred as Rogelio De La Vegawill portray as a trust-fund baby whose money is cut off in the new comedy. According to The Hollywood Reporter the series centers on a trust-fund baby who is cut off by his father. He and his wife then move into her estranged sister’s condo in Reseda, forcing the two to reconnect.
Alex Herschlag (Will & Grace) as been set as writer. Sutton Street’s Joanna Klein, Propagate’s Ben Silverman, Guillermo Restrepo, Gonzalo Cilley and Maria Lucia Hernandez Frieri will exec produce alongside Camil and Urman. CBS Television Studios will produce.
The fifth and final season of Jane the Virgin returns next month.

]]>Westworld actress Katja Herbers will play a forensic psychologist in Evil, a new supernatural drama that delves deep into the battle between science and religion. The pilot hails from The Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Herbers will star as Kristen Benoist, a skeptical clinical psychologist, who has teamed up with the Catholic Church to look into cases of unexplained phenomena. Their goal is to determine if these cases have a scientific explanation or rather there’s something truly supernatural about them.
Robert King will direct the pilot from a script penned by himself and his partner. The duo will also executive produce with Liz Glotzer, president of the couple’s King Size Productions.
Katja Herbers is best known for her role on HBO’s Westworld. Her other credits include Divorce, Manhunt: Unabomber, The Leftovers, and Manhattan, among others.
Evil marks the Kings’ return to the network, with their latest project for CBS was 2016’s Braindead.

]]>Multiple outlets confirm that Rock is officially on board the NBC comedy pilot starring Saving Kenan starring Kenan Thompson. Rock will direct the single-camera pilot about a newly widowed dad (Thompson) determined to be everything for his kids while begrudgingly letting his persistent father-in-law become more involved in their lives.
Rock and Thompson are both Saturday Night Live cast members, with Rock appearing on the show from 1990-93, a decade before Thompson joined in 2003.
Rock and Thompson will also executive produce the show written by Jackie Clarke. Should the pilot be picked up to series, Rock will continue to exec producer, and Thompson will most likely leave SNL as a full-time cast member.
This isn’t Rock’s first directing gig. According to Variety, he has previously directed the features Head of State, I Think I Love My Wife, and Top Five. He also directed projects for the small screen including Everybody Hates Chris and comedy special Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo.

]]>The Witcher was officially announced in May 2017 and is based on the eight-part novel series which was written by Andrzej Sapkowski, who will be working on the English language drama series as a creative consultant.
According to Variety, Hissrich will also serve as the Witcher Programs showrunner and executive producer.
Netflix is working with Polish company Platige Films, which produced The Witcher 3 and also developed cinematics for Halo 5: Guardians, on the show.
