]]>The Holdovers, Poor Things, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Barbie, American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, Past Lives, and The Zone of Interest were also in the running for the best picture award, but none of them could stand their ground to Oppenheimer. In addition to winning best picture award, Christopher Nolan was also named the best director for the first time.
Oppenheimer’s Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. collected acting Oscars for best actor and best supporting actor, respectively. They were joined by Poor Things’ Emma Stone (best actress) and The Holdovers’ Da’Vine Joy Randolph (best supporting actress).
Oppenheimer did pretty well in the technical categories, as well, and collected three more trophies – best original score, best cinematography, and best film editing. Poor Things was also one of the major winners with four awards, while The Zone of Interest collected two, including best international feature film.
The 96th Academy Awards took place at Los Angeles’ iconic Dolby Theatre on March 10, with Jimmy Kimmel returning to host for the fourth time.

]]>Oppenheimer was the front runner for the outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture, and it lived up to the high expectations to take this trophy home. Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. also had a reason to celebrate after collecting individual awards for their respective performances.
As for The Bear, the hit FX dramedy was crowned with a trophy for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series, while its stars Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri collected awards for the best actor and actress in a comedy series.
Winners were a little bit more difficult to predict on the drama side, but Succession still managed to walk away with the coveted award for the outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series. Its stars, however, didn’t collect any individual awards after being beaten by Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) and Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown).
The 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards took place on February 24 at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles, with Netflix live-streaming the ceremony.

]]>Oppenheimer was one of the nominees for the coveted best film trophy at this year’s BAFTAs and defeated Anatomy of a Fall, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Poor Things to take this award home.
Its director Christopher Nolan finally won his first BAFTA for the best director, while Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. picked up acting accolades for their work on this film. Oppenheimer was also one of the leaders in the technical categories with three awards – best cinematography, editing, and original score.
Poor Things was right behind with five wins, most notably the best actress trophy, collected by its leading lady Emma Stone. Despite its impressive track record, Yorgos Lanthimos’s film struggled in all the other main categories and lost the outstanding British film award to The Zone of Interest.
The 2024 BAFTA Awards celebrated the best cinematic achievements of the past year at the Royal Festival Hall on February 18, with David Tennant hosting the show.

]]>Oppenheimer will be competing alongside Poor Things and Flower Moon for the coveted best picture trophy, where the list of contenders also includes American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, Barbie, The Holdovers, Maestro, Past Lives, and The Zone of Interest.
All three films are also in the running for the best director award, along with Anatomy of a Fall (Justine Triet) and The Zone of Interest (Jonathan Glazer).
Oppenheimer also received three nods on the acting side, thanks to its stars Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, and Robert Downey Jr., in addition to competing in multiple technical categories, such as best cinematography, best film editing, and best sound.
The list of major nominees also includes Netflix’s musical biopic Maestro with seven nods, and the summer blockbuster Barbie with eight – which shockingly didn’t receive nominations for best director (Greta Gerwig) and best leading actress (Margot Robbie).

HBO’s hit series Succession got a proper send-off at the Golden Globes, where its final season won a total of four trophies. It was named the best drama series, while its stars Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, and Matthew Macfadyen collected acting accolades. It was also a big night for The Bear and Beef, and we’ve seen them walk away with three awards in their respective TV fields.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer led the way in the drama categories with eight nods, starting with the best drama film. Anatomy of a Fall, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Past Lives, and The Zone of Interest also received nominations for this prestigious award.
The final season of Succession impressed the Golden Globes voters so much that it made history as the most-nominated series in a single year. It scored a total of nine nods, starting with the best drama series, and multiple acting nods for its ensemble cast, including Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Matthew Macfadyen, Alan Ruck, Alexander Skarsgård, and J. Smith-Cameron.
The Golden Globe Awards winners will be announced on January 7, 2024, when the ceremony is set to take place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

]]>Oppenheimer chronicles the life and times of theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, drawing inspiration from the book American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. The film will look back at his time as the head of the Manhattan Project, an undertaking that led to the development of the first nuclear weapons during World War II.
Oppenheimer, who famously called himself “the destroyer of worlds”, can be heard wondering how his discovery will reflect on the rest of the human kind in the trailer’s voiceover, saying, “I don’t know if we can be trusted with such a weapon but we have no choice.”
Oppenheimer will be led by the Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy, with Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, and Kenneth Branagh in supporting roles. It will be released on July 21, 2023 by Universal Pictures.

]]>The Holdovers, Poor Things, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Barbie, American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, Past Lives, and The Zone of Interest were also in the running for the best picture award, but none of them could stand their ground to Oppenheimer. In addition to winning best picture award, Christopher Nolan was also named the best director for the first time.
Oppenheimer’s Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. collected acting Oscars for best actor and best supporting actor, respectively. They were joined by Poor Things’ Emma Stone (best actress) and The Holdovers’ Da’Vine Joy Randolph (best supporting actress).
Oppenheimer did pretty well in the technical categories, as well, and collected three more trophies – best original score, best cinematography, and best film editing. Poor Things was also one of the major winners with four awards, while The Zone of Interest collected two, including best international feature film.
The 96th Academy Awards took place at Los Angeles’ iconic Dolby Theatre on March 10, with Jimmy Kimmel returning to host for the fourth time.

]]>Oppenheimer was the front runner for the outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture, and it lived up to the high expectations to take this trophy home. Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. also had a reason to celebrate after collecting individual awards for their respective performances.
As for The Bear, the hit FX dramedy was crowned with a trophy for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series, while its stars Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri collected awards for the best actor and actress in a comedy series.
Winners were a little bit more difficult to predict on the drama side, but Succession still managed to walk away with the coveted award for the outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series. Its stars, however, didn’t collect any individual awards after being beaten by Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) and Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown).
The 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards took place on February 24 at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles, with Netflix live-streaming the ceremony.

]]>Oppenheimer was one of the nominees for the coveted best film trophy at this year’s BAFTAs and defeated Anatomy of a Fall, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Poor Things to take this award home.
Its director Christopher Nolan finally won his first BAFTA for the best director, while Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. picked up acting accolades for their work on this film. Oppenheimer was also one of the leaders in the technical categories with three awards – best cinematography, editing, and original score.
Poor Things was right behind with five wins, most notably the best actress trophy, collected by its leading lady Emma Stone. Despite its impressive track record, Yorgos Lanthimos’s film struggled in all the other main categories and lost the outstanding British film award to The Zone of Interest.
The 2024 BAFTA Awards celebrated the best cinematic achievements of the past year at the Royal Festival Hall on February 18, with David Tennant hosting the show.

]]>Oppenheimer was one of the ceremony’s most-nominated films with eight nods, and it managed to walk away with five of them including best motion picture – drama. Its stars Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. won awards for their respective performances, Christopher Nolan was named the best director, while Ludwig Göransson picked up the trophy for the best original score.
HBO’s hit series Succession got a proper send-off at the Golden Globes, where its final season won a total of four trophies. It was named the best drama series, while its stars Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, and Matthew Macfadyen collected acting accolades. It was also a big night for The Bear and Beef, and we’ve seen them walk away with three awards in their respective TV fields.
The 2024 Golden Globe Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on January 7, with Jo Koy taking over hosting duties for the first time.

]]>2023 has definitely been the year of Barbie, and it’s not a shocker to see Greta Gerwig’s film lead the Golden Globe nominations. It received a total of nine nods, including the best comedy or musical, alongside Air, American Fiction, The Holdovers, May December, and Poor Things.
Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer led the way in the drama categories with eight nods, starting with the best drama film. Anatomy of a Fall, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Past Lives, and The Zone of Interest also received nominations for this prestigious award.
The final season of Succession impressed the Golden Globes voters so much that it made history as the most-nominated series in a single year. It scored a total of nine nods, starting with the best drama series, and multiple acting nods for its ensemble cast, including Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Matthew Macfadyen, Alan Ruck, Alexander Skarsgård, and J. Smith-Cameron.
The Golden Globe Awards winners will be announced on January 7, 2024, when the ceremony is set to take place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

]]>Oppenheimer chronicles the life and times of theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, drawing inspiration from the book American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. The film will look back at his time as the head of the Manhattan Project, an undertaking that led to the development of the first nuclear weapons during World War II.
Oppenheimer, who famously called himself “the destroyer of worlds”, can be heard wondering how his discovery will reflect on the rest of the human kind in the trailer’s voiceover, saying, “I don’t know if we can be trusted with such a weapon but we have no choice.”
Oppenheimer will be led by the Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy, with Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, and Kenneth Branagh in supporting roles. It will be released on July 21, 2023 by Universal Pictures.
