]]>Avatar 2 is now officially known as Avatar: The Way of Water and it’s set to premiere on December 16. The first trailer premiered at CinemaCon, but it won’t take long for the general audience to see it. It will be shown ahead of screenings of Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness before being released online.
Cameron wasn’t able to attend CinemaCon because he’s “hard at work putting the final touches on the film” in New Zealand but promised that the new movie will push the limits in every possible sense.
“I wanted our return to Pandora to be something really special. Every shot is designed for the biggest screen, highest resolution, and most immersive 3D available. I think we pulled it off,” said Cameron.
Producer Jon Landau attended CinemaCon in person and he shared a promising vision for the rest of the franchise. Three more Avatar movies are on the way, and he described them as “a connected saga” with the Sully family at its heart.
