]]>Pierce Brosnan, who played the titular character in the ultra-successful franchise four times, thinks it’s time a woman gets the role of the suave spy.
“I think we’ve watched the guys do it for the last 40 years. Get out of the way, guys, and put a woman up there. I think it would be exhilarating, it would be exciting,” the actor told The Hollywood Reporter.
But Brosnan knows better than to expect a woman play Bond anytime soon.
“I don’t think that’s going to happen with the Broccolis [current franchise producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli],” he said. “I don’t think that is going to happen under their watch.”
A year ago, Broccoli told The Guardian that she thinks that Bond should remain male.
“Bond is male. He’s a male character. He was written as a male and I think he’ll probably stay as a male. And that’s fine. We don’t have to turn male characters into women. Let’s just create more female characters and make the story fit those female characters.”
The next Bond film, the 25th installment titled No Time to Die is set for an April 2020 release.

]]>Craig discussed the future of the franchise during the recent launch of the upcoming Bond 25 film. He believes there’s no need to stick to outdated macho traditions when picking the next Bond and take everyone into consideration – regardless of their race and gender.
“I think that everybody should be considered. Also for women and for African-Americans, there should be great parts anyway, across the board,” explained Daniel Craig.
The future of James Bond franchise has been a matter of public debate ever since Craig announced he’ll end his run with Bond 25. Many Hollywood A-listers shared their thoughts about the potential female Bond, including Craig’s wife Rachel Weisz and co-star Eva Green. Unlike Craig, they were against the idea, because they believe women should get their own stories.

]]>Now, after the dust settled, the Slumdog Millionaire director decided to clarify these “creative differences” in a recent interview and explain why he really quit James Bond 25.
According to Boyle, he made a script with John Hodge (Trainspotting) and wanted to do that version of the movie, while the studio and James Bond producers had different ideas. Since the 62-year-old director didn’t want to bail out on Hodge, the pair decided to leave the project together.
“I learned quite a lot about myself with Bond. I work in partnership with writers and I am not prepared to break it up,” said Boyle. “We were working very, very well but they didn’t want to go down that route with us. So we decided to part company, and it would be unfair to say what it was because I don’t know what Cary [Fukunaga] is going to do. I got a very nice message from him and I gave him my best wishes. It is just a great shame. What John [Hodge] and I were doing, I thought, was really good. It wasn’t finished, but it could have been really good. You have to believe in your process and part of that is the partnership I have with a writer. It is like someone coming and saying, ‘Hey, we are going to give you a different editor.’ Those fundamental partnerships are vital.”
After Danny Boyle left, Cary Fukunaga (Beasts of No Nation, True Detective) was hired to take over the directorial reigns on James Bond 25. The movie is set for release on April 8, 2020, with Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody) joining the project as a villain.

The 37 year old is expected to reprise his role when filming begins for the 25th installment of Bond which will be helmed by Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle.
The film is also set to be the final version of the franchise starring Daniel Craig as 007.
Numerous names have been thrown into the hat as to whom will take over the role of the suave secret agent, including Luther actor Idris Elba and Avengers: Infinity War star Tom Hiddleston.
But, it now appears as though Ben is also raising his hand.
When asked about the possibility of playing 007, the A Very English Scandal actor said, “Oh, yeah! I’d only do it if I could be Q, though, doing it. I don’t want to jinx anything, but I’m definitely up for being more active.”
Someone get him a martini.

He was also nominated for an Oscar in 1967 for Alfie which is widely considered to be the film which made Michael Cane a star. His other titles include lesser-known but well-loved movies including Educating Rita and Shirley Valentine.
Gilbert’s son reported that he had been suffering from dementia for the past decade and passed peacefully in his sleep in Monaco last Friday.

]]>Although every James Bond movie has the usual recipe: gadgets, villains, beautiful women and martini’s, not all Bond movies were successful. So buckle up and get your martini served shaken, not stirred, as we bring you our list of top five James Bond movies.
After Quantum of Solace in 2008, one of the worst Bond movies ever, 2012’s Skyfall restored our faith in the franchise. Daniel Craig may not have been everyone’s favorite 007, but he brought his A-game to this movie. It will get personal and there will be tears involved as Bond’s loyalty towards M, played by Oscar-winning Judi Dench, is tested when their HQ is attacked.
This is the first Bond movie where Daniel Craig takes the lead. There has been a lot of speculation on Craig not fitting as the next Bond, as he had to live up to expectations of legendary actors before him. We think it is safe to say that Craig justified the trust and delivered us a masterful Bond movie. Casino Royale was the first of Fleming’s Bond series, which seems fitting for a fresh start with a fresh actor. It follows 007 as he gets involved in high stakes game of poker in order to defeat his enemies.
This one may come as a surprise as it is more of a love story than the usual action-packed Bond movie, with agent 007 getting married at the end. But before that, James Bond, now played by George Lazenby after Sean Connery decided to retire from the role, must defeat a villain who wants to destroy the world’s food supply.
This is the second James Bond film and one where we can see James Bond closer than ever to the original character Ian Fleming created. Played by Sean Connery, who was, as usual, excellent, Agent 007 is on a mission to retrieve a Soviet device for encryption that was stolen by the evil organization called SPECTRE, He has to do everything in his power to find it, and that includes seducing Russian beauties.
Probably the all-time greatest Bond movie. Gert Fröbe’s portrayal of supervillain Goldfinger is nothing short of amazing, while Sean Connery puts on James Bond smile one again. The movie has been largely influential on all the later installments in the franchise, mostly due to its extensive use of technology and gadgets, specific humor, and attractive locations, elements all later Bond movies incorporated.
