]]>Wolfs centers on two fixers who prefer working alone, but their latest high-profile case forces them to join forces. The two “lone wolves” must work together covering up a major crime, while their night spirals out of control in ways that neither one of them expected.
In addition to Clooney and Pitt in lead roles, this action comedy will also star Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, Poorna Jagannathan, Richard Kind, and Zlatko Burić. It hails from writer and director Jon Watts, who recently made a deal with Apple to return for a sequel. He’s also credited as one of the producers alongside Smokehouse Pictures’ Clooney and Grant Heslov and Plan B’s Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner.
Wolfs will have its world premiere in the out-of-competition selection at the Venice International Film Festival. It will get a limited one-week theatrical release on September 20, before heading to Apple TV+ on September 27, after Apple decided to pivot from a wide theatrical release.

]]>The adaptation of Lily Brooks-Dalton’s sci-fi thriller, which was named one of the best books of 2017 by the Chicago Review of Books, will be penned by Mark L. Smith.
According to Variety, the post-apocalyptic tale follows the parallel stories of Augustine (Clooney), a lonely scientist in the Arctic, and an astronaut on board the Aether spacecraft who is trying to return home to Earth, as Augustine races to make contact with the spaceship.
Clooney is producing the feature with Grant Heslov.
“Grant and I couldn’t be more excited to be involved with this incredible project,” Clooney said in a statement. “Mark is a writer we’ve long admired and his script is haunting. We’re thrilled to be working with our friends at Netflix as well.”
“Having known and worked with George for over two decades, I can’t think of anyone better to bring this amazing story to life,” Scott Stuber, head of Netflix’s film division, added. “The book is powerful and moving, and Mark’s adaptation is beautifully written. At its core, this is a story about human nature, and one that I know our global audiences will fall in love with, just like I did when I read it.”
