]]>Anything. Anything could happen next. And that’s what made episode 4 so horrifying.
The episode begins with Jon Snow honoring those who gave their lives in battle. Next, everyone is celebrating the victory with a big feast and pools of wine. Daenerys makes Gendry a lord and everyone toasts Arya, who is shooting arrows elsewhere. Things get awkward when Tormund praises Jon Snow’s leadership and Daenerys walks away, realizing that the people of the North do not love her. This leads her to plea with Jon to keep the secret of his heritage a secret.
Meanwhile at the party, the Hound is grumpy as ever and Brienne of Tarth takes part in Tyrion’s drinking game. Things get awkward when he asks if she is a virgin and Brienne leaves in embarrassment. Tormund is heartbroken when Jamie follows and later decides that it is time he returned north of the wall with the other wildlings. Brienne and Jamie have sex and Gendry asks Arya for her hand in marriage. She says no.
But that’s not all. Jon tells Sansa and Arya that he is a Targaryen. Daenerys loses another dragon and her beloved Missandei.
Alright so yeah, a lot happened and we genuinely have no idea what is going to happen next week. Now that Khaleesi’s army has been thinned by the White Walkers and with just one dragon left, it appears that Cersei has a good chance of winning. She has the castle, the Golden Company and all of King’s Landing are behind the gates, which means that Daenerys has to kill hundreds if she wants to set her dragons on Cersei.
The episode finishes with Emilia Clarke looking absolutely livid as it looks that she isn’t as close to the Iron Throne as she thought. Is our Khaleesi becoming the tyrant she vowed to take down? The question is certainly on the mind of Varys.
Finally, an unexpected twist was Jamie’s hateful monologue in one of the final scenes. He leaves Brienne of Tarth crying her eyes out while he rides down to King’s Landing to be with Cersei. Will he swap sides or has he realized that he must be the one to take her down?

]]>Greenblatt and Bloys talked about HBO in the post-Westeros world in an exclusive interview with Deadline, and assured fans they have a lot more in store. New shows like Euphoria, Watchmen, The Nevers, and His Dark Materials all have the potential to become our next TV obsession.
“Networks often go through these periods when signature shows go away, and people speculate on what the future is… I think you just have to keep your focus on being in business with the best people you can, putting all the effort into making these shows great, and the next big phenomenon will come when you least expect it,” explained Greenblatt.
HBO currently has several prequels in development, but they don’t want to rush it since it’s important to see if any of them are worth going forward with after pilots are filmed.
“We’re having conversations about how do we smartly continue the Game of Thrones universe, but we have to be really thoughtful about not killing the golden goose and not putting on shows that aren’t up to that quality level, and how many is too many,” said Greenblatt while talking to Deadline.

]]>Titled Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, the two-hour-long documentary will chronicle the filming of season eight and is set to air on Sunday, May 26, or one week after the series’ finale. British filmmaker Jeanie Finlay (The Great Hip Hop Hoax) will helm the project.
“Made with unprecedented access, Game of Thrones: The Last Watch is an up-close and personal report from the trenches of production, following the crew and the cast as they contend with extreme weather, punishing deadlines and an ever-excited fandom hungry for spoilers,” said HBO in a statement. “Much more than a ‘making of’ documentary, this is a funny, heartbreaking story, told with wit and intimacy, about the bittersweet pleasures of what it means to create a world , and then have to say goodbye to it.”
The first episode of Game of Thrones‘ final season is set to air on HBO on April 14, 2019. Unlike previous seasons, this one will only have six episodes.
While GoT fans will surely be sad to see their favorite series wrap up, this won’t be the end of World of Westeros on TV screens. HBO is currently working on a prequel series set “thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones” which will “chronicle the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour.” The prequel will enter production at some point in 2019.

]]>In a recent interview, Williams discussed the final season of Game of Thrones and decided to offer some details about her character’s last scene, which she described as “beautiful” and “perfect.”
“I ended on the perfect scene. I was alone–shocker! Arya’s always bloody alone,” the 21-year-old actress shared. “But I was alone, and I had watched a lot of other people wrap. I knew the drill, I had seen the tears and heard the speeches. I got to the end, and I didn’t want more. I had exhausted every possible piece of Arya. And this season was quite big for me. I had a lot more to do. Mainly because there’s just less characters now, so everyone’s got more to do.”
Besides Maisie Williams, Peter Dinklage recently also gave his opinion on Tyrion Lannister’s final scenes on the show. According to Dinklage, Tyrion was given a proper conclusion while adding that even if his character ended up dead, “death can be a great way out.”
The final season of Game of Thrones is scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2019, and if cast continues to sharing, there is no doubt that we will find out lot more details about it before the first episode airs.
