]]>Shang-Chi and Spider-Man are both in the running for a total of five trophies, starting with the best superhero movie. Their competition in this category will include the fellow Marvel movies Black Widow and Eternals, DC’s The Suicide Squad and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. The list of major contenders in the rest of the movie field includes Don’t Look Up, The Harder They Fall, and No Time to Die with four nominations each.
When it comes to the TV categories, horror series Evil and Midnight Mass were absolute leaders with six nominations each. Marvel had a pretty good showing thanks to the success of the Disney+ shows WandaVision and Loki, while Netflix was close behind with their smash hit Korean drama Squid Game.
The Critics’ Choice Association presented the Critics’ Choice Super Awards for the first time last year, and the upcoming ceremony is set to return on March 17th.

]]>Westworld actress Katja Herbers will play a forensic psychologist in Evil, a new supernatural drama that delves deep into the battle between science and religion. The pilot hails from The Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Herbers will star as Kristen Benoist, a skeptical clinical psychologist, who has teamed up with the Catholic Church to look into cases of unexplained phenomena. Their goal is to determine if these cases have a scientific explanation or rather there’s something truly supernatural about them.
Robert King will direct the pilot from a script penned by himself and his partner. The duo will also executive produce with Liz Glotzer, president of the couple’s King Size Productions.
Katja Herbers is best known for her role on HBO’s Westworld. Her other credits include Divorce, Manhunt: Unabomber, The Leftovers, and Manhattan, among others.
Evil marks the Kings’ return to the network, with their latest project for CBS was 2016’s Braindead.
