Most moviegoers will agree that there is nothing better than a good movie twist. They both deliver unique movie moments while also making a certain feature truly unforgettable. This is why we decided to bring you our top 5 best movie twists. Let’s check them out. *P.S. SPOILER ALERT!

Gone Girl (2014)

The plot of the movie revolves around perfect suburban wife Amy and her sudden disappearance. The police, the public, and the media all accuse and hold her husband Nick as the prime suspect. After some time, the twist kicks in and the movie reveals how Nick cheated on Amy and she planned her disappearance in detail, making it look like Nick killed her.

Memento (2000)

Following a home invasion, Leonard Shelby’s wife is killed and he was left with anterograde amnesia. He searches for his wife’s murderer throughout the movie, only to realize that she survived the home invasion, but he accidentally killed her later on.

The Sixth Sense (1999)

Dr. Malcolm Crowe is a child psychologist who returned to work in an attempt to help a young boy who sees the dead. After a few minor twists, several memorable lines, the movie reveals that Dr. Crowe is actually dead. It is probably one of the most iconic plot twists in the movie world.

Shutter Island (2010)

Teddy Daniels is a US Marshal attempting to hunt down an escaped mental patient, Rachel Solando, responsible for murdering her three children. Afterward, it is revealed that Daniels is actually Andrew Laeddis, a man incarcerated at the mental hospital for murdering his wife Rachel. The whole scenario is made up by Andrew to help him fight his insanity.

The Others (2001)

During WWII, Grace Stewart’s husband is shipped off to fight the war. Grace and her two children wait for his return in the mansion where they are hunted and tormented by supernatural beings. As it turns out, later on, Grace and her children are ghosts. Grace murdered them and then took her own life due to insanity, but she never fully realized it.

Like each year, 2017 also gave us some great blockbuster hits, movies that delighted the critics and was a bunch of simply bad movies and those that didn’t fulfill their potential (we are looking at you Justice League).

But let’s not work ourselves with the negatives. We decided to look on the bright side and bring you our picks for the top 10 movies of 2017. Let’s get on with it then.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

We just can’t skip Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri on any list of top movies of 2017. This feature tells the story about a mother who rents three billboards outside the town in an attempt to make the authorities do something about her daughter’s unsolved murder.

Dunkirk

Critics’ favorite, this Christopher Nolan directed movie tells the story of the evacuation of Allied troops from French city Dunkirk in wake of Nazi attacks.

The Shape of Water

Another Guillermo del Toro’s fantasy masterpiece, The Shape of Water takes us back to 1960s and follows lonely janitor Elisa who discovers a mysterious creature in one of the laboratories she cleans and develops a friendship with it.

The Disaster Artist

“A movie about making a movie” would be the easiest way to describe The Disaster Artist. James Franco stars as Tommy Wiseau and brings us a story about Room, probably the worst movie ever made.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Action, humor, and baby Groot. What else can you ask from Guardians of the Galaxy sequel?

Blade Runner 2049

The sequel to 1982’s Blade Runner didn’t do great at the box office but Blade Runner 2049 has all that it takes to become a cult movie like its predecessor.

Wonder Woman

DC superhero movies haven’t been living up to their potential lately, but that can’t be said for Wonder Woman. This movie follows the Wonder Woman’s origin story and her involvement in the World War I.

Baby Driver

This high octane, exciting action movie tells the story of a getaway driver named Baby who is forced to work for a mob boss after trying to steal his car.

Logan

With this movie, Hugh Jackman made the perfect exit from the X-Man universe. Logan follows aged Wolverine in a world where the villains took control. After he meets a young mutant, which is very similar to him, Logan has to rediscover his powers in order to protect her.

Get Out

The directorial debut from comedian Jordan Peele, Get Out came out of nowhere and took us all by surprise. The movie tells a story about a young black man who visits his white girlfriend’s parents and starts noticing some weird things happening.
