Great news A.P. Bio fans! The comedy will be back for season 3 on NBCUniversal’s still unnamed and yet to be launched streaming service.

The NBC comedy from creator Mike O’Brien was initially canceled after two seasons in May. The series follows a disgraced Harvard philosophy professor turned high school biology teacher. It starred Glenn Howerton and Patton Oswalt.

“I’m so overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the fans,” O’Brien said Wednesday in a statement. “The cast and I are thrilled that we get to make more and I’m excited to work with the NBCU streaming platform.”

O’Brien credited fans for the series’ return thanks to a successful #SaveAPBio social media. “This happened because of all you guys! We’re extremely thankful!” he tweeted Wednesday.

The Hollywood Reporter was first to report the news.

Mike O’Brien’s A.P. Bio has been canceled.

Series creator announced via Twitter that NBC has decided that the scholastic comedy will end with Season Two.

The single-camera sitcom, which has four remaining episodes, starred Glenn Howerton as a disgraced Harvard philosophy scholar, Jack Griffin, who lost out on his dream job and was forced to return to Toledo, Ohio, to work as a high school biology teacher. Griffin then decides to enlist his bright students to get some revenge.

O’Brien shared on Twitter, “I’m intensely sad to announce that AP Bio will be ending after this season. This has been my favorite project of my life and that’s because of the amazing writers, cast and crew. As most canceled shows probably feel, I think we were just hitting our stride and everyone was still loving the work, so this is very hard.”

A.P. Bio also starred Patton Oswalt, Lyric Lewis, Mary Sohn, Jean Villepique, Tom Bennett, Paula Pell, Charlie McCrackin, Jacob McCarthy, Aparna Brielle, Nick Peine, Allisyn Ashley Arm, Eddie Leavy, Jacob Houston, Sari Arambulo, Tucker Albrizzi and Spence Moore.
