Heartstopper is one of the most beloved coming-of-age series in recent memory, and its final chapter is just around the corner. Nick and Charlie’s love story will soon come to an end, after Netflix announced a feature-length film based on the final Heartstopper novel instead of renewing the series for Season 4.

Netflix’s Heartstopper film will take place after the events of Season 3, and it will see Nick and Charlie dealing with the ups and downs of a long-distance relationship, as Nick prepares to leave for university. It will also see the rest of their friends confronting the bittersweet challenges of growing up and moving on.

Kit Connor and Joe Locke will be back as Nick and Charlie, while the rest of the cast is yet to be announced. Yasmin Finney, Tobie Donovan, Jenny Walser, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, Rhea Norwood, and Olivia Colman will most likely reprise their respective roles from the original series.

Alice Oseman, the writer of the Heartstopper graphic novel series, is returning to pen the script for the final movie. She said she’s “so grateful to everyone who has worked hard to make this possible and to the incredible fans of Heartstopper for [their] patience and passion.”

HBO’s Harry Potter series has been in the works for quite some time, and the network finally shared some official casting news with the world. After months of speculations, they confirmed the casting of John Lithgow, Nick Frost, Janet McTeer, and Paapa Essiedu.

HBO’s new Harry Potter adaptation will star John Lithgow (The Crown) as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer (The White Queen) as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu (I May Destroy You) as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz) as Rubeus Hagrid, in addition to Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.

Francesca Gardiner, who serves as writer, showrunner, and executive producer of the new series, confirmed the casting news alongside Mark Mylod, who’ll direct multiple episodes of the show. The duo said they’re “delighted to have such extraordinary talent onboard” and added they “can’t wait to see them bring these beloved characters to new life.”

HBO is yet to cast the three main characters—Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger—but their casting will be announced before the series starts filming later this summer. Back in December, it was reported that over 30,000 kids auditioned for the lead roles, and that the casting team was planning to “workshop with some of our shortlisted candidates” in January.

Created for Netflix by Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham, this crime drama series centers on a 13-year-old boy, accused of the murder of his classmate. Over the course of four episodes, his family, classmates, therapist, and the detective in charge are all left wondering what really happened.

Newcomer Owen Cooper leads the cast in his breakout role, and he’s joined by Stephen Graham, Ashley Walters, Erin Doherty, Owen Cooper, Faye Marsay, Christine Tremarco, Mark Stanley, Jo Hartley, and Amélie Pease.

Adolescence was met with critical acclaim since its premiere on March 13. The decision to shoot each episode in one continuous take was praised by the critics, who also applauded the cast’s performances and the show’s writing, atmosphere, themes, and social commentary.

The second season of The Last of Us is just a month away, and HBO has finally given us a taste of things to come. The first full trailer takes us to the post-apocalyptic wasteland ravaged by monsters and sees Joel and Ellie trying to carry on with their mission as the world collapses around them.

The Last of Us draws inspiration from the hit video game of the same name and follows the hardened survivor Joel (Pedro Pascal) and a defiant teenage girl Ellie (Bella Ramsey), as they travel across the post-apocalyptic United States after he’s been tasked to smuggle her out of a quarantine zone.

In addition to reuniting us with Joel and Ellie, the new trailer introduces us to many newcomers to this universe. Season 2 will also star Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Rutina Wesley as Maria, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac, and Catherine O’Hara as Gail, plus Gabriel Luna returning as Tommy.

The Last of Us will return for its second season on HBO on April 13. It will feature seven episodes, airing weekly until May 25.

Anya Taylor-Joy has mostly been focusing on her film career in recent years, but she’s ready to return to our small screens. The Golden Globe-winning actress will lead the Apple TV+ adaptation of Marissa Stapley’s bestselling novel Lucky, in addition to executive producing it alongside Reese Witherspoon.

According to its official logline, Lucky will center on “a young woman who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago, but must now embrace her darker, criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past.”

This series hails from creators and showrunners Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas, who are also coming on board as EPs alongside Reese Witherspoon through Hello Sunshine. Taylor-Joy is joining them as one of the executive producers, and she said it’s an honor to partner up with a company that’s doing a fantastic job of championing women’s voices.

Taylor-Joy rose to prominence with the role in Robert Eggers’ folk horror The Witch, and went on to star in hit films Split, Emma, The Menu, Last Night in Soho, and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. On the TV side, she’s best known for her role in the Netflix mini-series The Queen’s Gambit, which scored her a Golden Globe win and a Primetime Emmy nomination.

Season 4 of Outer Banks will wrap up this week, and the next chapter of this series is already on the horizon. Netflix renewed the YA adventure series for its fifth and final season, which will bring the Pogues’ adventure to a satisfying conclusion.

Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke, creators and executive producers of Outer Banks, released a joint statement, revealing what its future has in store. They announced that Season 5 will be the show’s last while setting expectations high for the grand Season 4 finale.

“The fourth season was our longest and hardest – but most rewarding – to produce. The season ends with a feature-length episode, which we think is our best, most powerful episode… Season Five will be our last season, and we think it will be our best yet. We hope you’ll join us for one more paddle out to the surf break,” said the trio in a statement.

Outer Banks stars Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Carlacia Grant, Drew Starkey, Austin North, and Fiona Palomo. It centers on a group of teens looking for a mysterious treasure in a coastal North Carolina town, divided by a feud between working-class local residents and wealthy seasonal visitors.

Outer Banks will return to Netflix for Season 4 – Part 2 on November 7.
