The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Zachary Levi has been cast in the forthcoming adaption of the memoir Guantánamo Diary from Mohamedou Ould Slahi.

The actor joins previously cast Benedict Cumberbatch, Jodie Foster, Shailene Woodley, and Tahar Rahim.

The film will tell the true story of Mohamedou Ould Slahi, a man who was captured by the U.S. government and held for years without charge or trial. The self-proclaimed story of the fight for survival against impossible odds was penned by Michael Bronner, with revisions by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani. 

According to the outlet, Foster and Woodley will play a defense attorney and her associate respectively, with Cumberbatch starring as a military prosecutor named Lt. Stuart Couch. Levi will play federal agent, Neil Buckland.

The film is currently shooting in South Africa.
