It looks like we could finally get the highly anticipated sequel to 2013’s zombie film World War Z in the near future.

Although World War Z 2 was announced shortly after the original was released, it looked like the project has hit the wall in this past couple of years with delays and director changes. But those problems are now sorted out according to Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, the producer duo behind the movie.

Gardner and Kleiner recently attended the premiere of their newest movie Beautiful Boy, and were asked to give an update on World War Z 2 during their red carpet interview. Although the pair was tight-lipped about the details, they confirmed that the shooting will start in June 2019 with David Fincher still attached as a director.

“We’re starting to shoot in June,” the pair told reporters before adding: “What more do you need to know? Brad Pitt is Gerry Lane. He’s back. David Fincher is directing.”

According to Jeremy Kleiner, the script, which is being written by Dennis Kelly (Utopia), is still in the works. This, however, shouldn’t be an alarming sign, since eight months is enough time to get all the details sorted out.

Directed by Marc Forster, World War Z saw Brad Pitt playing United Nations investigator Gerry Lane who finds himself on a mission to save the world from a zombie apocalypse. The movie received positive reviews from the critics and was a box office hit, earning $540 million compared to the $190 million budget.
