]]>Before there was Twilight, there was Angel, Spike, Dracula and a whole host of bloodsucking fiends which don’t glitter in the sunlight. Here are 8 shows you should watch if you’re looking for a TV series that is totally fangtastic.
The vampires in Buffy the Vampire Slayer are soulless fiends who often get punched in the face by Buffy, a 5ft teenage girl. It’s awesome.
The Buffy spin-off takes itself a little more seriously but David Boreanez as a brooding vampire turned demon hunter/detective is pretty cool.
If you like your vampires a little more raunchy, True Blood is the show for you.
What do you get if you cross a vampire, werewolf and ghost and get them to share a flat together? A pretty decent show apparently.
Relive your teenage vampire obsession with this deliciously corny teen drama.
Alternatively, if you want something a little more adult, the vampires in Supernatural are far less whiny.
Head to the streets of Victorian London to encounter classic literature’s most infamous characters including Dr Frankenstein, Dorian Gray… and Dracula.
Set in England, the 2018 show about witches features the odd vampire here or there too.

]]>Holden Webster
Holden is the vampire who gave Buffy a short therapy session before she slayed him. He taught us a lot about Buffy and we kinda wish she didn’t stake him.
Harmony
Vampire Harmony makes several appearances and eventually moves across to Angel for series 5. She’s incredibly vexing, but she’s also kinda harmless (for a vampire).
Darla
Darla was way cooler on Angel than on Buffy, but she still makes it on the list.
The Anointed One
The Anointed One was so bad, he was good. He sat around in a dingy lair ordering his vampire followers around and came to a sticky end when Spike realized he wasn’t actually good for much.
The Master
The Master was the kingpin villain in season one of Buffy. He was both scary and brilliantly witty, showing us that the series is not one to be taken too seriously.
Angelus
Angel is so much better when he’s bad. Angelus is so evil that it’s darkly entertaining.
Dracula
The seductive Dracula cannot be left out of this list, even if he did only appear for one episode.
Drusilla
Drusilla made watching Spike plan to kill Buffy far more entertaining. Her fantasy vision and childlike persona mixed in with a healthy dose of blood lust put her near the top of this list.
Vampire Willow
We love Willow but Vampire Willow was something else. She’s wild, seductive and was the first clue in the series that Willow was gay.
Spike
Spike is not only the best vampire, but one of the best characters of the whole series. He’s cool, devious, hilarious and even has a sensitive side. Lovesick-poet-turned-evil-demon is one of the best and most dramatic character makeovers you can get.
