]]>According to Deadline, the project is being in the middle of the bidding war between several major Hollywood studios with New Line Cinema being in the pole position to take on the project.
Gary Dauberman, known for his work on Annabelle, It, and The Nun, will write a script for the film. Since Dauberman is currently writing and will be directing an Untitled Annabelle film for New Line Cinema, it wouldn’t be surprising if he also ends up heading Train to Busan remake.
Train to Busan follows a group of people in the middle of a zombie apocalypse who find themselves on a train going from Seoul to Busan. It was directed by Yeon Sang-ho (The King of Pigs and The Fake) with South Korean stars Gong Yoo, Jung Yu-mi, and Ma Dong-seok playing the leads. The movie earned around $93 million at the box office against $8.5 million budget while winning several awards. Animated prequel for Train to Busan, titled Seoul Station, was released with Sang-ho returning as a director.
