After just one season on Netflix, Next in Fashion has been canceled.

The series was 10 episodes long and was hosted by Queer Eye’s Tan France and style icon Alexa Chung. The fashion competition saw eighteen designers from around the world competing in challenges based on trends and styles happening globally. South Korean designer Minju Kim, took home the title as well as $250,000 and the opportunity to debut her collection with Net-a-Porter.

The guest judges included Eva Chen, Elizabeth Stewart, Monique Lhuillier, Elizabeth Van Der Goltz, Prabal Gurung, Phillip Lim, Jason Bolden, Kerby Jean-Raymond, Adriana Lima, Christopher Kane, Beth Ditto, Josefine Aberg, “Dao”- Yi Chow, Maxwell Osborne, and Tommy Hilfiger.

Tan France told Variety, “We’re not doing a second a season. This is a one-season show, we don’t know what will happen in the future,” France continued. “But it was honestly one of the proudest things I’ve ever worked on. I love the show and Alexa so much. My focus is definitely on ‘Queer Eye’ and moving forward with that.”

Multiple outlets confirm that Netflix has renewed Queer Eye for two more seasons. 

The reboot of Bravo’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, was launched on the streaming giant in February 2018 and quickly became a mega-hit.

It stars the feel-better and make-better team, Bobby Berk (interior design), Karamo Brown (culture), Tan France (fashion), Antoni Porowski (food and wine), and Jonathan Van Ness (grooming).

According to Variety, season 4 of the unscripted series is set to debut on July 19th. Season 5 will begin production next week and will debut sometime in 2020.

The fab-five quickly became icons and were tapped by LGBTQ advocate Taylor Swift to appear in her new musical video for “You Need to Calm Down.”
