The Critics’ Choice Super Awards are returning to honor our favorite films, and they finally unveiled their list of nominees. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Spider-Man: No Way Home earned Marvel five nods each, while Evil and Midnight Mass topped nominations in the television categories.

Shang-Chi and Spider-Man are both in the running for a total of five trophies, starting with the best superhero movie. Their competition in this category will include the fellow Marvel movies Black Widow and Eternals, DC’s The Suicide Squad and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. The list of major contenders in the rest of the movie field includes Don’t Look Up, The Harder They Fall, and No Time to Die with four nominations each.

When it comes to the TV categories, horror series Evil and Midnight Mass were absolute leaders with six nominations each. Marvel had a pretty good showing thanks to the success of the Disney+ shows WandaVision and Loki, while Netflix was close behind with their smash hit Korean drama Squid Game.

The Critics’ Choice Association presented the Critics’ Choice Super Awards for the first time last year, and the upcoming ceremony is set to return on March 17th.

The People’s Choice Awards once again rewarded movies, TV shows, and musical artists that have been keeping us entertained all year long. The list of winners was filled with Marvel projects, including movies Black Widow and Shang-Chi and the TV show Loki.

Shang-Chi’s Simu Liu was crowned as the action star of the year, while the film itself picked up the award for the action movie of the year.

Disney continued its domination in the TV categories thanks to Loki. In addition to winning the award for the best TV show of 2021, Tom Hiddleston collected the trophy for the male TV star of the year for the titular role in this project.

It was also a big night for Disney, as several projects from this studio collected top prizes. Cruella was named the drama movie of the year, while Jungle Cruise dominated the comedy categories. Pixar’s Luca scooped the award for the best family movie.
