]]>Spike Lee finally receives an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay and looks more excited than a child at Christmas when his name is called.
Olivia Coleman was totally overwhelmed when she had to give a speech for her Best Actress Award. Watching the former Peep Show star blow a raspberry when told to wrap her speech up is gold.
It’s no secret that the film industry is unwelcoming to original films from streaming platforms. Cannes even banned Netflix from participating in the festival last year. Mexican film Roma picked up multiple awards indicating that the Academy favors epic direction over trendy snobbery.
There many superb performances at last night’s ceremony but best of all has got to be Oscar-winning Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s performance of “Shallow” from their movie.
Rami Malek has won a Golden Globe, a BAFTA and a SAGA for his incredible performance as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody. Now, he has added an Oscar to his collection and his acceptance speech was as charming and humble as ever.
Lady Gaga may have dressed in diamonds but this The Favourite and Mary Poppins inspired look takes the cake.
Lady Gaga looked sensational as always. To top off her look, the singer song-writer wore a 128 carat Tiffany’s diamond, one of the biggest in the world. The diamond was previously worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast At Tiffany’s.

]]>The winners of Cinematography, Editing, Make-Up and Hairstyling and Live Action Short awards will now be awarded during the live telecast, Deadline confirms. The decision was made by Academy president John Bailey and CEO Dawn Hudson.
“The Academy has heard the feedback from its membership regarding the Oscar presentation of four awards – Cinematography, Film Editing, Live Action Short, and Makeup and Hairstyling. All Academy Awards will be presented without edits, in our traditional format. We look forward to Oscar Sunday, February 24,” an Academy statement said.
The initial decision was criticized by a slew of Hollywood A-listers including Brad Pitt, Russell Crowe, George Clooney, Quentin Tarantino, Guillermo del Toro and more.
It looks like that at least this time, common sense prevailed.
The 91st Academy Awards take place Sunday February 24, at the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, California.
