]]>According to its official logline, Lucky will center on “a young woman who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago, but must now embrace her darker, criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past.”
This series hails from creators and showrunners Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas, who are also coming on board as EPs alongside Reese Witherspoon through Hello Sunshine. Taylor-Joy is joining them as one of the executive producers, and she said it’s an honor to partner up with a company that’s doing a fantastic job of championing women’s voices.
Taylor-Joy rose to prominence with the role in Robert Eggers’ folk horror The Witch, and went on to star in hit films Split, Emma, The Menu, Last Night in Soho, and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. On the TV side, she’s best known for her role in the Netflix mini-series The Queen’s Gambit, which scored her a Golden Globe win and a Primetime Emmy nomination.
