]]>Iñàrritu’s new film will reportedly revolve around the most powerful man in the world, who embarks on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity’s savior before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything. In addition to directing this project, he also co-wrote the script alongside Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris, and Nicolas Giacobone, and serves as one of its producers along with Cruise.
This untitled project has been developed as the first film out of Cruise’s strategic partnership with Warner Bros. Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall), Jesse Plemons (The Power of the Dog), Riz Ahmed (Sound of Metal), John Goodman (The Righteous Gemstones), Michael Stuhlbarg (Call Me by Your Name), and Sophie Wilde (Talk to Me) will join him in supporting roles.
This high-profile project will mark Iñàrritu’s first English-language film in almost a decade, since The Revenant in 2015. He won an Oscar for best director for this drama fronted by Leonardo DiCaprio, adding it to his collection of three Academy Awards for Birdman, including best picture, best director, and best original screenplay.
