The television adaptation of the William Landay’s bestselling crime novel of the same name, tells the story of Massachusetts assistant district attorney Andy Barber, played by Chris Evans, and what his family undergoes after his son, Jacob, played by Jaeden Martell, is accused of murdering a classmate. 

Defending Jacob also stars Michelle Dockery as Laurie, on-screen wife and mother to Evans and Martell.

Defending Jacob hails from creator and writer Mark Bomback. Serving as director, executive producer, and showrunner is Morten Tyldum. In addition to starring, Evans also exec produces with Rosalie Swedlin and Adam Shulman for Anonymous Content.

Evans is best known for starring in Captain America and The Avengers

Defending Jacob premieres April 24 on Apple TV+.

Hulu dropped the first teaser trailer for its new alien animated comedy from Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland and the Adult Swim writer Mike McMahan on Wednesday. 

In Solar Opposites, a team of four aliens who have escaped their exploding home world, crash land into a move-in ready home in suburban America. They are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. 

The four aliens are voiced by series regulars Roiland, Thomas Middleditch, Mary Mack, and Sean Giambrone.

The series is executive produced by Roiland, McMahan and Josh Bycel. The series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television.

Solar Opposites premieres May 8.

Survive, one of Quibi’s “Movie in Chapters,” is based on the novel of the same name by Alex Morel about “the only survivors of a plane crash on a remote snow-covered mountain, who must rely on each other as they battle brutal conditions and personal traumas to make it back to civilization.”

Tuner said at the time of her casting: “I couldn’t be more honored to portray the role of Jane in Survive for Quibi. She’s a complex character fighting against the odds to not only save her life but to also find her own source of strength and courage. The forthcoming new chapter in the Saw horror franchise, Spiral: From the Book of Saw, has been unveiled and it features Chris Rock as the lead with a supporting cast that includes Samuel L. Jackson and Max Minghella.

The official description for Spiral reads: “Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Jackson), brash detective Ezekiel ‘Zeke’ Banks (Rock) and his rookie partner (Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.

The film’s being billed as the terrifying new chapter from the book of Saw. 

Spiral marks the ninth installment in the Saw franchise.

The trailer features Jennifer Hudson as the Queen of Soul in a sparkly gold dress singing a cappella the songstress’s iconic Respect, which also happens to be the title of the feature.

The acclaimed espionage thriller is set to return early next year for its first episodes since 2018.

The season seven finale saw Claire Danes’ Carrie Mathison released after having endured seven months of confinement in a Russian gulag. That confinement also meant living for months off her meds. 

The 50 seconds clip sees Carrie admit that she lost months of her life, only to return with a broken memory. 

Per Showtime’s official description, in the eighth and final season of the show, “Kabul teams with warlords and mercenaries, zealots and spies — and Saul needs the relationships and expertise that only his protégé can provide. Against medical advice, Saul asks Carrie to walk with him into the lion’s den — one last time.”

Also starring is Mandy Patinkin as National Security Advisor Saul Berenson, Beau Bridges, Maury Sterling, Linus Roache, Costa Ronin, Nimrat Kaur, and Numan Acar round out the cast.

Starring as the titular character in the Niki Caro-directed feature is Chinese-American actress Liu Yifei. The footage features Yifei’s impressive sword-fighting skills as the fearless heroine Mulan. “It is my duty to fight,” she says in the trailer.

The classic tale follows a young woman who risks everything out of love for her family and her country to become one of the greatest warriors China has ever known.
