]]> Multiple outlets confirm that Emma Thompson is in early negotiations to join Disney’s live-action take on the 101 Dalmatians‘ villain.

The Oscar-winner is in talks to star in Cruella. Should she join the project she’ll star opposite Emma Stone, who has been set to play Cruella De Vil, the villain of the animated classic. The character was previously portrayed by Glenn Close in the 1996 live-action film produced by John Hughes. 

It is currently unknown what role Thompson would be playing.

I, Tonya‘s Craig Gillespie is directing from a script penned by Tony McNamara, who reworked the most recent version of the screenplay with Dana Fox.
