]]> Dark Phoenix, the sequel to 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse, is definitely one of the most anticipated movies of 2019. The hype about next installment in X-Men film series will get even bigger now since 20th Century Fox just released a brand new trailer for this long-awaited movie.

The movie centers on “The Dark Phoenix Saga” storyline from the comics during which Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) assumes the power of Phoenix Force and transforms into her alias Dark Phoenix. After the first trailer showed Grey turning into a loner and getting in conflict with the rest of the X-Men, the second one gives more insight into her transformation while showcasing her frightening new powers.

 Newly-released footage also seems to reveal some major spoilers, revealing who kills Mystiques and the ones responsible for corrupting Jean Grey and making her turn rouge.

Dark Phoenix is scheduled for release on June 7, 2019, and will see Simon Kinberg, who served as X-Men: Apocalypse writer and producer, making his directorial debut. The majority of the cast from the previous movie will make a return including Turner, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult.
