Due to the ongoing Coronavirus, the final chapter of the NBC thriller, Blindspot, will premiere Thursday, April 30 and not over the summer as originally planned. 

Season five of Blindspot begins in the aftermath of the explosion that left Jane (Alexander) watching as a drone strike on the safe house with the rest of the team inside. Questions to be answered include who made it out alive and whether the team will ever be able to clear their names in the wake of Madeline’s (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) rise to power. 

Blindspot also stars Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, Ashley Johnson and Ennis Esmer.

NBC has picked up Blindspot for a fifth and final season. 

Following the renewal, series creator Martin Gero shared a message of thanks on Instagram writing, “We’re in this together. All of us.” In 2014 I sketched out a five season plan for the show. I am beyond grateful that we will be able to properly finish telling this giant, sprawling story. Thank you to our amazing partners at @nbc, the incredible team at @warnerbrostv, our cast, our writers, our crew and most importantly YOU. Thank you. We do this for the fans. The series follows a mysterious tattooed woman (Jaimie Alexander) who is found naked inside a travel bag in Times Square by the FBI, with no memory of her own past or identity. It also stars Sullivan Stapleton, Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, Ashley Johnson and Ennis Esmer. 

The show was a big breakout hit, but its ratings declined in Season 2 and then again at the start of Season 3. According to Variety, the fourth season averaged 2.8 million total live viewers and a 0.48 in the 18-49 demographic.
