Multiple outlets confirm that the half-hour part comedy part drama from co-creators and executive producers Bill Hader and Alec Berg will return for a third season. 

Barry follows the titular character (Hader), a hitman who discovers a passion for acting when he comes to Los Angeles on a job. While the first season followed Barry as he stumbled into the world of acting, season two will follow him as he attempts to untangle himself from the world of contract killing and fully immerse himself in acting.

The series also stars Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, Anthony Carrigan, and Henry Winkler.

The HBO series won three Emmys for its first season, with Hader and Winkler each winning for their roles in 2018. The show also won the award for sound mixing. 

The news comes just two weeks after the show’s second season premiered on March 31. However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the first two episode of Barry’s sophomore run averaged 478,000 viewers, down from season one’s 587,000.
