]]>After eight seasons, the comic book series is finally coming to an end. The series has received consistently high praise and Emily’s Felicity Smoak has been a long-running favorite with fans.
Now that the show is coming to an end, Rickards has taken the opportunity to share her experience working on the show with her fans via social media.
“I’ve been trying to find the words to simply say what the last seven years have meant to me, and I believe this photo sums it up!” Rickards wrote on Instagram.
“It’s a cuddle puddle. Everyone here is exhausted and smiling. Everyone here looks at home. The incredible mind of my friend @schwartzapproved will be taking Arrow into its 8th & final season sending it off with pride, power and love.”
She continued: “Without this show I would have not met the inspiring people pictured here nor those I have gotten to work with and get to work with everyday. People who have become my family. I’m excited to see what is in store for the story we have been telling.”

]]>The news was confirmed by series executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Beth Schwartz in a statement.
“This was a difficult decision to come to, but like every hard decision we’ve made for the past seven years, it was with the best interests of ‘Arrow’ in mind,” said the statement. “We’re heartened by the fact that ‘Arrow’ has birthed an entire universe of shows that will continue on for many years to come. We’re excited about crafting a conclusion that honors the show, its characters
Arrow star Stephen Amell went on Twitter following the announcement and shared a brief statement of his own.
“Playing Oliver Queen has been the greatest professional experience of my life… but you can’t be a vigilante forever.”- he tweeted. “Arrow will return for a final run of 10 episodes this Fall. There’s so much to say… for now I just want to say thank you.”
Arrow debuted on The CW in 2012 and followed billionaire Oliver Queen (Amell) who, after spending five years stranded on an island, returns to his hometown and decides to fight crime. The series was well received by the critics and established itself as a big audience draw for the network. It also inspired other superhero shows like The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow.
