]]>The Snowtown and Macbeth director will helm the first two and final two episodes of Paramount Television and Anonymous Content’s Shantaram for Apple TV.
The series is based on the best-selling novel by Australian writer Gregory David Roberts. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series follow Lin, “a one-time bank robber and heroin addict who escaped from Melbourne’s infamous maximum security Pentridge Prison.”
“Shantaram is a mesmerizing Australian story and this series will bring it to life for a new generation, creating further jobs for our world-class screen industry,” said Australian Communications and Arts Minister Paul Fletcher.
Shantaram will be filmed at Docklands Studios and Pentridge Prison.

]]>The series, “a fictional look at the goings-on of early morning television,” stars Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell, and Reese Witherspoon. The series also stars Billy Crudup and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
“Through the prism of those under-slept, over-adrenalized people in front of and behind the camera, we take an honest look at the complex relationships between women and men in the workplace, and we engage in the conversation people are a little too afraid to have unless they’re behind closed doors,” Aniston said.
Aniston and Witherspoon play “two ambitious, aspirational female characters,” while Carell portrays Mitch Kessler, an anchor “struggling to maintain relevancy in the ever-changing media world.”
The Morning Show was written by Kerry Ehrin based on an original idea by Michael Ellenberg. It was directed by Mimi Leder.
